"Lauri! get off the floor or you'll make it disappear," Lauri obeyed his mother with a sigh, "mom I am so bored, what can I do, I did my school, I cleaned my room, I got the mail, I played legos, and I cleaned the windows, what can I do?" Lauri was spinning around in a circle  now complaining, "go outside and play with your ball," Lauri's mother said setting up a flower arrangement. Lauri was nine now, and his Mother was going through a phase were she thought TV, or video games, were not a good thing for young boys, So she cut it out of the daily activities. But there was one thing about that, since Lewis came home later in the evening, there was no one to play with Lauri, and he could not be entertained with such things as media. "it's not fun to play ball alone," Lauri grumbled as he made his way outside, the sweet spring air lightened his spirits a little and he ran out and kicked his football sending it flying. It hit the wooden fence that separated his house from the neighbors, and bounced back at him. "Oh, so that's how you want to be, huh? Well, being evil is not going to stop me from saving the day, take that!" Lauri kicked the ball harder this time, it bounced off the fence, hit the tree, and went far off over the fence. "aw, what?" Lauri felt a sinking feeling, he knew that he had to get it, or he could tell his Mom, but if he did, he would get into a whole lot of trouble. So he chose the reasonable thing to do, get the ball himself. So after thinking about it for a long time, and considering how he should get over the fence; he did it. Climbing over the fence was a breeze, especially when climbing did not involve climbing, but just scrambling under a loose board. And as he got across the fence, he said in an amazed voice, "wow!" The neighbors house was huge, with a built in pool a fire pit, and the biggest yard Lauri had ever seen! "No way, how could I have not known our neighbors house was so cool!" Lauri knew that they had kids, and he was feeling quite jealous of then now. But now was not the time to be jealous, Lauri was going to find his ball, first he looked around the fence, and then in the flower garden. However someone else found it first, "what, I thought I told these kids not to leave their toys outside, Well I will have to have a talk with them later." The neighbor mom picked up the ball, and looking around to see if there was anymore toys, she walked inside. "Oh no!" Lauri said in dismay, "I guess I can take a look at the inside as well," so Lauri Made his way inside the neighbors house, just to be amazed more at the fancy furniture and the large TV in the living room. He also noticed there was a box of doughnuts on the counter, the smell was mesmerizing and he need to to try one. Lauri's mom was not only just into no TV, or video games, she was not into junk food either, so Lauri was hypnotized by the beautiful sight of doughnuts. "Maybe just one," he said making his way to the doughnut box, he opened it slowly, smelled the sweet smell from inside, and took one chocolate sprinkle doughnut. Then he hid behind the nice couch, "(as not to be seen)" and ate that beautiful pastry. It was of course twenty minutes before he stood up and walked around looking for his ball, because the doughnut had not quite disappeared inside of him. He ended up finding his ball in the neighbor kid's bedroom, and was about to leave, when he saw that the kid had a nintendo entertainment system hooked up to a TV screen. Lauri could not help it, he had never played nintendo games before, and it was too tempting. So he picked it up and turned it on, the music started playing and Mario popped up on the screen. He played for a good hour, and would have played longer had it not been for the Neighbor mom, who came upstairs in the bedroom. Lauri dropped the controllers, the moment they left his hands they appeared out of thin air, or that's what it seemed to the neighbor mom. She saw it, and when she did, she ran downstairs and started dialing the phone. Lauri knew he was in trouble, so he ran out of the house taking his ball with him, and did not leave without taking another doughnut. He ran across the large yard, and scrambled under the fence, and hid in the tree house. He ate his doughnut with much delight, and did not notice the car that drove up the neighbors driveway. Nor did he notice the frightened lady explaining what had happened to her, in a very high exaggerated story. But he did know he was not hungry for dinner, when his mom called him inside.
