Soul Mates (On Hiatus)

Chapter 17

AN. Hello again! Happy Thanksgiving! It's one of my favorite holidays because I get to eat a bunch of FOOD!!! YES!!! Anyway, on with the story!

A few minutes after Mr. Twister left the team was on their feet, massaging their heads and groaning.
"What happened?" Wally asked. Robin nodded as if to say he wanted to know too.
"I placed the bio ship between us..." she trailed off as Super Boy lashed out on a large peice of dirt left behind from his fall to the ground.
Everyone looked over and Fire had her lips pursed passively.
"And that's supposed to make it right? You tricked us into thinking that Mr. Twister was Red Tornado!" He exclaimed.
"Enough! Super Boy, anyone could've made that call. Hell! You're at fault too because you went with it as well!" They had a glaring match where Megan was on the ground in the middle of the two towering figures.
"Back off Fire, I don't like being ordered around-"
"I'm your sister! I'm supposed to give you advise-"
"YOU ARE NOT MY SISTER!!! We aren't even related! The only reason why I thought you were is because I didn't know any better! I didn't know what a sister was! YOU AREN'T MY SISTER!!" Fire's mouth hung open slightly as her ears pressed to her skull. Everyone was silent before Fire shook her head.
Tears made her eyes shine as she turned away, "Not all family is blood." The wolf girl huffed as she wiped her eyes and walked back toward the mountain.
Super Boy glared after her while everyone else looked shocked.
"Nice work Super Boy." Reaper snarked, floating down to the ground.
"We can handle this later. For now, we must work on stopping Mr. Twister." Aqualad intervened.
"M'gann, hit the showers. We can take it from here." KF said, putting his hands on his hips.
"Stay out of our way." SB said as he walked passed her, toward where Mr. Twister was headed.
The Martian watched as he started to run away toward town. KF was next to run after him as SB leaped into the air in an attempt to get their faster. Wally put on the a second later while Robin struggled to keep up seeing as he didn't have powers.
"I was just trying to be part of the team." Megan said, her head hanging low.
Aqualad looked at her with a sad expression, "To be honest...I'm not sure we really have a team." With that he ran after the rest of them.
Reaper sighed as he looked at Phantom.
"You can set us up with a link. We might need you for backup. Can you see if you can get Fire to come back too?" The green skinned girl looked up and nodded slightly with a shaky smile.
They smiled back and took off after them, leaving Megan alone to get on her bio ship.
'Fire?' Megan asked mentally.
There was a huff, 'Yeah? Does the idiot need me?'
'He didn't ask, sorry, but the rest of the team does. Please, come back and help us. We might need the backup.'
There was a long pause, 'I'll think about it.' The link fizzled out and she sighed.
In the town Mr. Twister was wrecking havoc. Tornadoes were all over the place. People were screaming and running from falling debris. That was the scene the heroes found when they arrived.
"Certainly this will get the required attention!" The robot exclaimed.
"You got ours!" Was Wally's immediate response as he ran up to him. "Undivided!" He jumped up and kicked the robot in the middle of his chest before landing in a crouch on the ground.
"In material and insufficient!" He yelled back, getting ready to blast the red head. "You are a distraction I can no longer tolerate!"
Super Boy let out a battle cry from above them as he landed in between Wally and Mr. Twister. The tornado making machine flew back just before Super Boy could land a good hit on him.
Both heroes got ready to fight as the android made two tornadoes and set them loose on the duo.
Meanwhile, Miss Martian was in her ship contacting Red Tornado.
"The team really needs your help! Fire left and I can't get passed the wall of emotion Reaper and Phantom have in their minds." She pleaded.
"If I intervene, it would not be to help. You must work out those things yourselves." He looked down slightly as if in thought.
"Although, it is strange that this...Mr. Twister has my elemental abilities, and my immunity to telepathy." He stated. Miss M bit her lip thoughtfully before she brightened and smacked her forehead.
"Hello Megan!"
In town, Aqualad and Robin showed up. Dodging tornadoes sent their way. When Aqualad got close though, Mr. Twister used his elemental abilities to throw the Atlantian into a house.
Kid Flash wasn't doing much better and had to start running away from a tornado.
Robin got his bird-a-rangs ready and threw them at the android, only to have them sent off course.
Super Boy then attacked Mr. Twister only to have his heavy hit dodged again.
Reaper and Phantom showed up just after and blasted the red and blue android.
"Why did we sign up for this again?!" Reaper questioned when he had to dodge a gust of air.
"You said you wanted to get back into the game!" Phantom grunted. "Frankly, I did too." They shot more blasts and Phantom landed a good punch.
"We never learn do we?"
"No, Reaper, we don't." He sounded exasperated, but the grin on his face said very differently.
Mr. Twister sent another tornado flying to them, but they dodged so it hit Super Boy sending him flying straight to the house Aqualad was thrown into.
Aqualad was just coming out of the rubble when Super Boy screamed and landed where he had been standing moments before...followed by a boat which destroyed the house even more. The Atlantian grabbed a discarded piece of the boat and charged at Mr. Twister.
Behind a piece of ruble Kid Flash and Robin were hiding. Kid was crouched down while Robin put on his utility belt.
"You brought your utility belt?" He asked as he glanced over at the ebony.
"Never leave home without it! First thing Batman taught me." The other respoded.
Wally snorted, sending him a grin, "That's not the only thing his life style taught you." Robin blushed a bit with a smirk.
"You like it though." Wally blushed too.
"So not the time Rob!"
"You started it!" The ghost teens were thrown into the rock they were hiding behind.
"How do they keep getting in the way?" Reaper groaned.
'Listen to me! All of you!" Megan said firmly. Phantom and Reaper looked confused as to why the team was clutching their heads though.
Phantom looked at Reaper, "Open a link and let her tap into it." He nodded did as he was told. There was a gentle prodding and they let it in.
'I'm not helping you!' Was the first thing they heard.
"What did we tell you?!" Super Boy growled, ignoring Fire.
'I know! I'm sorry, but you have to listen to me. Fire we need you here, now! I have a plan. Please, just trust me.'
A sigh through your mind feels like a breeze going straight through your head, 'Fine, I'm on my way.' Fire's link dropped a little after that so she couldn't speak, but she could hear what was going on.
'Here's the plan...'
The entire town was in chaos and ruin. People were scrambling to get away until someone saw Red Tornado. Then, things calmed down just a little.
He zoomed toward the team who was getting into a battle position.
"Hit the showers boys." He said as he landed. "I thought you could handle this. Clearly, you can not."
"But we have a plan now!" Robin yelled.
"The subject is not up for debate." He said back.
With their heads hanging low, they all walked off.
"I was beginning to believe you'd never show up!" Mr. Twister said.
"I'm here now." Red Tornado replied.
He made a tornado and sent it as Mr. Twister who dodged it with ease adding power to it and sending back a bigger tornado.
Red Tornado dispersed it and said, "We are evenly matched Twister."
He created a large tornado behind him and used it to send rocks flying at his elemental match.
"No Tornado we are not!" He punched the ground and sent a wave of wind up to stop the rocks from hitting him.
Twister charged up two blasts in his hands and fired. Tornado dodged it, but the blast kept coming and eventually hit him.
He was down for the count.

AN. I would leave it there, but I'm gonna be nice this time because it's Thanksgiving.

Twister flew over to his fallen enemy.
"Remain still android." USB ports came out of his fingers and attached themselves to Tornado's head.
"The reprogramming won't take long." He rumbled.
Red turned his head and grabbed the USBs, taking them off his head. That's when M'gann revealed herself. She had been impersonating Red Tornado the entire time.
"Longer than you might think."
Twister tried to pull away, but to no avail.
"No..."
Fire lept onto his back and sent him to the ground, leaving claw marks on his back.
"Nice to have you back." Robin commented. She grunted in response.
Megan gestured behind him and Wally created another tornado to send him flying as he went to M'gann's aid.
Twister we sent tumbling into Super Boy and Reaper. Super Boy punched straight through his chest while Reaper took out his scythe and chopped one of Twister's arms off.
Super Boy kept hitting him as the suit failed. Reaper made deep cuts into the robot's back, weakening him even more.
Finally, Super Boy delivered one last punch.
The hit made Twister fly into the water where Aqualad was waiting. He hit him with a peice of metal and used his magic to electrocute the robot, causing an explosion that blew off his other arm and made him fly out of the water.
Megan, who had been waiting for him to come out of the water, used her telekinesis to rip the rest of the suit apart.
Robin came running in next, he threw his bird-a-rangs and they exploded on impact. Mr. Twister fell to the ground with a hard thud. He manged to sit on what was left of his knees to face the team. The suit opened up and out fell what looked like an ordinary man.
Fire narrowed her eyes and bared her teeth while the ghosts looked confused. The man had no true aura...
"I-I-I call foul." He stuttered.
Megan walked up, used her telekinesis to pick up a rock...
"M'gann no!" Aqualad yelled at her.
and smashed him to peices.
Fire nodded in approval, "Good-"
"Good!? How is this good?!" Robin shouted at her.
He stomped up to her, "I don't know how they do it on Mars, but here we don't execute our captives!"
She just looked at him with a smrik, "And you said you trust me."
Fire rolled her eyes, "He was a robot shit for brains."
Megan nodded and picked up the rock, revealing the broken peices of a robot.
"That's why I couldn't read his mind." She said triumphantly.
KF walked up to it and found a fake eye that had come out of the things head, "Cool, souvenir!"
"We should've had more faith in you." Aqualad said, putting a hand on her shoulder. She smiled at him.
Phantom cleared his throat, "Uh, what about us? You didn't exactly trust our judgement." He gestured to Reaper, himself, and Fire who was glaring at nothing while her flame flared in anger.
"Yeah, I think we need to work on the whole team thing." Robin said, rubbing the back of his neck.
Little did they know, the remaining eye of the robot acted as a camera for a new enemy...
In the mountain, Aqualad explained what they concluded the robot was for. Tornado agreed with them that it was made to either sabotage or destroy him.
"Is that why you wouldn't help us?" Megan questioned. Phantom and Reaper had left a little while ago for reasons that will be left unsaid...for now. 😈
"No, I do not believe that I should solve your problems for you. Just like you should not solve mine, for me." He said reasonablly. The team just stared at him.
"But, if you're in danger..." M'gann started.
"Consider this matter, closed." He said as he started walking out.
"Batman, Aquaman, and Flash, they'd have jumped right in to fix things." KF commented, Robin standing beside him.
"If we're going to have a baby sitter, maybe a heartless machine is exactly what we need." Robin replied, gesturing to Tornado.
Fire scowled, "That was uncalled for Rob."
"And very inaccurate. I have a heart, carbon steel alloy." Red stopped walking. "I also have excellent hearing." He started walking again as Robin winced.
"Oh boy, if Reaper or Phantom would've heard you say that you'd be phased halfway through the floor right now." Fire said, looking as much amused as she was upset the Boy Wonder said that.
"Why do you say that?" Wally asked.
She winced, pressing her ears to her skull, "They have a...bad past."
The wolf girl shook her head and walked off.
Super Boy looked at Miss Martian for a second before saying, "Sorry."
She smiled, "Go get your sister back." He nodded awkwardly and left, M'gann following close behind.
Aqualad frowned at Robin, but said nothing as he left as well.
KF and Robin looked at each other with twin grins.
"Your room or mine Rob?"
"Mine, your room is always a mess."
"I haven't even been here a day yet!" He shouted dramaticly.
"All you need is a day."
With that Wally sigh before he scooped up his boyfriend and headed to the ebony's room. The boy wonder cackled all the way there, already anticipating what was going to happen once they were alone...
