"Do you know what's wrong with you?" Sammy spoke in a hushed tone holding my hands in her's. "No, not really, I thought it was food poisoning..." my thoughts began to trail off and I felt like I was going to black out. "Ell, we need to take you to the doctors. Please." "But I don't-" I stuttered before Sammy cut me off, "I'm booking you an appointment, I can't see my best friend like this." I sunk back into the sofa letting my red hair fall over my face as she got up to ring my doctors. "Told you, I always have my way," she began as the phone rang out "Ever since we were kids."
The appointment was booked for 2 o'clock, so I grabbed my car keys and Sammy and we drove to the surgery. I'd alway's hated doctors, can't stand them. Every ones so dreary, and good news was never delivered here. "Why must I be ill!" I whined in the middle of the waiting room, causing a couple of stares from the old people sat on the 'comfy' chairs in the corner. We had another 10 minuets in this awful place until my appoinment so we just lated around and attempted to read a couple of old, gruby magazines left on the coffee table.
"Elouise Green?" the nurse called through, nodding her head towards me. I stood up and Sammy followed behind as we were lead into one of the diagnostic rooms. "So Elouise," the nurse began "What's wrong?" as I listed all the symptoms off she looked concerned, "Wait here a moment..." she said before getting up and leaving the room. "Oh my god! What's wrong with me!" I squealed into Sammy's ear as I began to panic. "Hello Dear" another nurse who this time was about 50 something entered the room followed by the one who consulted me first. "Seem's that we believe you might be, urm.." She trailed off and looked at Sammy and I. "How old are you again Elouise?" she asked, I was confused to say the least "19, nearly 20... Why?" "Well Love, we have reasons to believe that you might be pregnant."
Pregnant, what no. How could I have let this happen? How long ago? What will Joe do?
Question after question filled my head, distracting from what the nurse was saying "-lie down on that bed sweetheart." was the only thing I heard her say. So I did. Sammy began to look almost white, like she'd seen a ghost. The did a scan on my stomach and after a while the nurse announced, "Our predictions we're right, you're having a baby Miss Green!"
