A Gaurded Love (Swapped Garmau)

Aphmau Ro'meave. The eldest child of the Ro'meave family, older sister to Zane and Vylad Ro'meave. The head guard of the village Phoenix Drop. Loyal through and through to her lord and village. Only problem is she's a run away, thought to have been killed by a Scaleswind guard. Now she is living hidden in Phoenix Drop with her apprentice Zenix, never showing her face. A few years pass and a stranger going by the name of Garroth shows up and begins to help the village rebuild itself. Over time Aphmau develops feelings for Garroth.

Aphmau's POV

I'm useless as a guard. I couldn't protect my village. I'm a failure. I sit in the village mine hoping that no one will bother me. At least I made sure that Levin is safe. Irene knows that if he wasn't Lord Garroth would have my head. "Aphmau?" Speaking of Lord Garroth. "M'lord, I would like to be alone right now." "Aphmau please at least tell me what happened while I was gone." "We were attacked by Zenix. He was hoping to kill Levin while you were away but I made sure the he was safe. You should go to him, he's missed you." "Thank you, Aphmau. Can I ask you one more thing?" "What is it?" "May I see your face?" Shocked, I hesitate, wondering weather or not to show him my  face. I've decided to show him.

Garroth's POV

Aphmau turned to face me. Her long raven falling down her chest ending just above her waist, how she hid it under her helm is beyond me. Her eyes revealed to be a warm hazel color. To be honest I had expected her to be an older woman. "You should go see Levin. I'm going to stay in the mine until my helm is repaired." She spoke snapping me out of my trance. "R-right, s-see you later Aphmau." Ugh why did I stutter? I make my way out of the mine leaving Aphmau to gather materials for the village.

Aphmau's POV

Did Lord Garroth just stutter? It was kind of cute. His face turned a light shade of pink when I turned around. Maybe I should keep my helm off when I'm with him.

-time skip to episode 52-

Aph's POV

It's been months since my helm was damaged, and I've decide to leave it off whenever I'm with Lord Garroth. In addition to the village becoming quite prosperous, Donna and Logan's wedding is soon, I think I might attend without my helm, or I would if it wasn't for the priest. If he wasn't here then I would but I will not show my face around him. I refuse.

-time skip to when Zane sees Aph at the docks-

"Well well well. Look who I've found." Oh Irene no. I turn around to see who my least favorite person. "Zane." "Hello again, big sister." I immediately regret leaving my sword in the guard tower. "Um... I'm a bit confused here. Would someone care to explain this to me," Lord Garroth interrupts. "What surprised that Aphmau has family?" "N-no it's just that I didn't expect you two to be related. I mean you two do look similar but seem so different personality wise." "Well family isn't the only thing you don't know about Aphmau. She also has a fiancé, the son of the lord of Scaleswind to be exact."

Garroth's POV

She has a fiancé!!! That must have been why she always wore her helm, but why was she hiding? "Now that I have found my big sister she can fulfill her part of the treaty marriage," Zane said, bringing me back from my thoughts. "I leave in three days time, I hope your 'guard' will make the right choice." "I regret leaving my sword in the guard tower." I turn toward Aphmau who has an irritated look on her face. "I thought you said we couldn't do anything to Zane without declaring war on O'kasis." "I did say that, didn't I." "Is the fact that you were going to be forced into a marriage the reason you always wore your helm?" "...yes, I haven't even met him much less know if I love him. Heh." I raise an eyebrow at her as she laughs for a bit. "What's so funny?" "I never knew what love felt like until now, seeing how well done Logan and Donna's wedding was and the spark between them. If I must get married, I want it to be like that, not forced as planned." I see, maybe if I get know her better, we could have that. "Well I'm going to turn in for the night. You should too. Good night Aphmau." "Good night, Lord Garroth."
