I'm...well, it doesn't matter. What does matter is my story and my killer. I didn't do what I was killed for. I was killed for crimes against the king but that's not what I did. My true crime was love, loving someone too much, and protecting a criminal. He's considered one but, in truth, he's not. He only kills on orders of the king and he only kills his target but when you go against the king, you're silenced. The man, the killer, went against the king's orders, the orders to kill the one he loved but he couldn't, he wouldn't. His story intertwined with mine in ways you wouldn't expect. I knew the killer when I was younger, he saved me from an abusive father. While he did kill, he also saved lives. He took me away, I guess you could say he kidnapped me but I went with him willingly. He, I guess, raised me but that's not completely accurate. I was ten when he took me away, ten when I almost died, ten when everything that could go wrong did. I was old to take care of myself but not old enough to be mentally stable and live on my own. I never saw him as a dad or brother or a friend. He simply was. He never seemed to mind that I didn't call him dad, he only minded that I called him Mr. But never reprimanded me on it. He would come covered in blood, sometimes his own, and I would help clean and take care of wounds. It was an odd set up we had but it worked for us. I know you're curious about the killer's name, it's Xander Mav. My name? I'm dead, what does it matter? If you really want to know, but I doubt you do, it's Alex. I don't have a last name but that doesn't matter. Xander is more important than me though he always argued with me on that. We enjoyed each other's company but we always had nothing to talk about. The king, annoying and spiteful, wanted everything. He wanted praise, he wanted people to lust for him, and he wanted Xander to care for only him. The only reason I wasn't killed sooner was because I kept Xander sane. He killed, lowering his sanity, and I helped put his mind to ease. It was my job to keep him going though that was never out right said. I had met the king a few times but I never liked him. My focus was on Xander. Always on Xander.
