Lana's POV
After their fight Alexander had let her go and slammed the door leaving her alone. That had been about 5 hours ago and it was dark now, she didn't like him at all but she still couldn't stop from worrying. What if he had encountered other wolves? He could be laying on the ground slowly bleeding to death while she was here tucked into his bed trying to sleep. As she stared out the window she tried to find him through the mating bond, after about 10 minutes she gave up. Of course she wouldn't be able to work the stupid bond, if he was really hurt then his pack would be out looking for him but she could still smell them in the house. With that thought she began to drift off to sleep but was suddenly awoken by the feeling of someone's weight on the bed. She immediately closed her eyes back and kept her breathing as even as she could. She knew it was him when he lightly stroked her hair away from her face.
"Please, please don't leave me Lana I'm sorry" his voice was so full of raw emotion that she wanted to look at him and comfort him. But she didn't, she just stayed still as he faced away from her and fell asleep.
~Next Day~
When she woke up the next morning she found that Alec had left already. He confused her so much, one minute he was acting all sexual and arrogant then the next he was give her space.
"Werewolves are so confusing" she stated to herself while rubbing the sides of her head. Deciding she had stayed in bed long enough, she climbed out from under the comforters and walked over to the closet to look for fresh clothes. Surprisingly, she expected to only see Alec's clothes but the inside of the closet was divided with his clothes on the left and women's clothes on the right. It looked like he had just bought a whole boutique and stuck it in his room.
She randomly selected a dress and held it up to her. It was a simple light green with small white daisies scattered across the entirety of the dress. It had thin spaghetti straps and ended just below her knees. She would have worn it had she not remembered why Alec was even mad at her in the first place and showing off some of her skin didn't seem like the best idea at the moment. She settled on a pair of light blue jeans and a gray long sleeve shirt with only a slight V-neck. After assessing her choice in the mirror she headed towards the door. The wolves that were down in the kitchen yesterday were no where to be seen. Alec probably sent them elsewhere after our confrontation yesterday morning. Since everyone seemed to either be mad, confused, or wanted to fight her she figured that just wandering the rest of the house would be okay. Going outside was a no, with all the wolves running around and she didn't think taking on the whole pack would be very smart. If she could get back to the water she could sing her song and have the waves carry them into the water and splatter them against the rocks. But seeing as she was at a disadvantage, she chose to just play it safe and stay inside.
Looking around now, she saw that the house was actually quite pleasant looking. It had a vibe to it that made her feel relaxed. Whoever decorated it clearly had an eye for detail and they did an excellent job at it.
"I take it you like the house?" Said a voice behind her. She turn around to see Alec standing there with his arms crossed watching her.
"I suppose I do, it's very different from my home but it's rather homey"
"You had a house in the ocean?" He gave her a look as he said this.
"It's less of a house and more of a shipwreck. It's very old but it serves the purpose of a home."
"What's it like?"
"My house? It's definitely wetter than here" He rolled his eyes at my comment.
"Obviously but I meant the ocean. What is it like down there?"
"The water stretches as far as you can see, even under the surface. The water will continuously change color with the light and the color of the sky, from green to blue to gray. At twilight, you can hardly tell the ocean from the sky. Ripples and waves continuously flow toward you, the way the sea moves makes it seems like the ocean itself is alive"
After I finished, he looked like he was deep in thought.
"Alec, do you not know how to swim?"
He looked up at me with a bewildered look on his face. Looks like I hit the nail right on its head.
"If you want, I can teach you. Who better to learn from than an aquatic creature?"
"I'm not a fool, what's to keep you from swimming away once I allow you in the water?"
He's not wrong. It does sound like something I'd attempt.
"Fine, if you don't trust me then find a pool we can use"
"Alright then. I'll let you know when we can do it"
I don't know why I offered to teach him. But I feel like everyone should know how to. As I thought about the water I could feel my siren clawing at my insides. She needed to be out so she could swim, I couldn't afford to let her dry up.
If she died then I died, it was as simple as that.
Author's Note:
I realize that I went off the grid for a while there and I'm sorry about that. My medical issues are slowly being solved and I finally got a break in my school to write!! Speaking of school I wrote this in my Spanish class while I was supposed to be learning. Whoops! I know this chapter is short but it's my Thanksgiving present to all my readers.
