She said, "Never forget me"
As if the coast could forget the ocean,
Or the lung could forget the breath,
Or the earth could forget the sun. "I promise baby girl I promise." ,as I promised my sister I would never forget her, her heart monitor gradually grew faint as the her hold on my hands grew weak, and the life in her eyes slipped away. "NO!" I screamed, and thrashed around in the doctors cool grip with tears slipping down from my eyes. I knew this was coming. That she would die. But why now? Right when I got my life together. Right when I found a place where I belonged. I looked back at my sisters face seeing the ghost of her smile and the usual 'curious about life' spark gone. I cried and whispered once more, "No."
