Wolves are one of natures top predators. We are vicious animals of the night, at least we once were. As the human race grew we shrunk.
Some good did come out of it. A new species was created, the werewolf. You know how parents will tell their children that if they believe hard enough then it will come true? Well, essentially this is what happened.
Some medieval freaks were so afraid of 'werewolves' that their nightmares become reality. I mean we're not that scary, we're just like you except better. Back in the day though that's when it really sucked. For an omega it's awful to walk into a room with just 1 alpha, just imagine what it would be like to walk into a room with an alpha back then.
Fights, more like full on wars over territories and mates were 'normal' with omegas' usually being at the center of the problem. The civil war wasn't just about politics and slavery, it was a lot more, personal. Anyway, now things have calmed down a bit , well If you mean 'calm' as shooting innocent bystanders, because you didn't get the mate you wanted, as 'calm'. Then yes, life has been as 'calm' as ever.
While some morals have passed with time, one still stands, omegas are property, they are meant to be show cased in the finest of clothes with the most beautiful of skin, and worst of all courting is a pain in the ass.
