Lockwood's POV

I go into the kitchen and make toast with jam. A couple minutes after I make it, I walk into the living room. Chomping quietly, I have a question formed in my mind.

"Luce, do you think you have an-" i stop mid-sentence, because I see Lucy asleep on the couch.

She looks so peaceful and tired, I don't want to wake her. She looks so cute. Wait, Lockwood you didn't think that. Once again (this is happening a lot lately), my thoughts get cut off by urgent footsteps. They must be George's.

"Lockwood?" He calls me. He sounds frightened, so I get up immediately and see him in the kitchen.

"George, what's wrong?" I gasp when I see his face. It is bone-white.

"I know w-what the inscription msays." He says, stuttering madly.

"Well, then, show me! Actually, on a scale from one to ten, how bad is it?"

"In my case, I'd say 10. It depends on how you look at it. Come, and I'll show you. Hey, where is Luce?"

"She's sleeping," I said, " I will go see if I can wake her up." I say as I make my way to the couch. "Luce, hey Lucy, wake up!"

"What, wake me up when I'm dead." She mutters sleepily.

"Luce, it's our job to prevent that," I say hastily, "George found out what it meant."

"Go away!" She says as she buries her head deeper into the couch cushion.

"Fine, have it your way." I say as I pick her up bridal-style.

"AHH," she screams, "Put me DOWN!" She says with a giggle.

"No," I say simply,"Come on." I carry her down the iron stairs, while George is right behind me.

"Look at my notes," he says, "I took the notes on what it says." He adds shakily.

I take a look at the notes in George's messy, scribbled handwriting. No, no no no no no no NO. This cannot be happening. I put Lucy down on the floor.

"Hey! It's cold." She sees my expression. "Umm, Lockwood, is everything alright?"

"No, I am not going to let this happen. It will ruin the business!"

She takes a look at George's notes. She groans loudly. Why? I want to know how this is possible.

"I'll be going to my room. I suggest you two do the same." I say as I make my way up the stairs.
