Chapter 1: The Party
It was the 4th of July. Little Kaylin was getting ready for a party at her friend's house. She heard there would be sex, she also heard there would be drugs, but that didn't stop her. She can resist temptation, everyone can. Right? As the night went on, she finally arrived at the party. Now keep in mind that Kaylin's mom left her, her dad, and her sister to fend for themselves when she was little; so because of her dads guilt, she gets to do just about anything her little heart desires. She arrives at the party in a cute but simple white/bage sleeveless top that compliments her dark brown shoulders. A matching pair of skinny jeans that make her legs resemble a carton of milk. She accessorizes with 3 bage bracelets, white Baby Phat sandals, and a silver necklace with a heart and K inside. To compliment her face, she chooses a clear lip gloss to flatter her small curvy lips. She wears a soft, but light glittery brown eye shadow that makes her eyes stand out under the light. Her entire outfit accentuates her dark and curly brown highlighted hair that hangs high in a sophisticated pony tail. She walks through the door while be greeted by her friend Trystin. She glides across the room like the Queen of Genovia. Many eyes on her and she can spot the cute eyes, the admiring eyes, the sex eyes, the fantasy eyes, and the ever so popular jealous eyes. Trystin regains her attention by directing her to the inside pool. Trystin is not made from money, but her step mother definitely is. Trystin's look is far from similar to Kaylin's look. While Kaylin chooses to rock a simple style, Trystin attempts to exceed to the level of all sex appeal. A see through white mid drift tank that floats high enough to let her belly button piercing be seen. Along with the top, she sports a mini jean skirt just high enough to show off her light caramel legs. Trystin stands at 5'9 with her 3 inch white Marc Jacob heels on, but in reality she's barely 5'8. Kaylin and Trystin strut across the floor laughing and dancing to the music until they are unexpectedly interrupted. Two 6 foot dark skin hazel eyed boys step in their path. Now neither Trystin nor Kaylin like to be interrupted when they are on the dance floor, especially by two guys holding hands of two short white blue eyed girls. Trystin had fury in her eyes, while Kaylin had the look of ignorance and wasted time written across her face. There is a staring contest that last about 2 minutes between all six people. Finally one of the girls speaks up and asks who the host of the party was. Trystin responds with a smug look that she is the host. The two girls giggle and look at each other and then up at the two guys holding their hands. Kaylin; getting tired of the awkward and confused silence finally ask why they rudely interrupted their dance with nothing to say. The two guys let go of the other girls' hands and tell Trystin and Kaylin that they just needed an excuse to talk to them. The two blonde girls stand looking shocked, confused, and upset. Now the shy game doesn't work for Trystin. She wants a man than can either step up or step out, but in this case she might make exception. Kaylin on the other hand was not impressed. Two guys that are too shy to talk to a couple of girls so they use, embarrass, and humiliate two other girls? Not her style. Kaylin looks at Trystin, looks at the guys up and down, shakes her head in disgust, and then walks away. The two guys stand looking stunned, while the two girls throw a fit about how they were just treated. Trystin breaks the silence by asking the two girls to exit the scene. The girls roll their eyes and look to the guys for security, but instead receive a cold dead look of dismal. The girls flip their hair and walk away trying to regain some type of left over dignity. Now Trystin is left alone on the dance floor with two mysterious unknown guys, leaving Kaylin to her socializing duties and the rest of the 60 people dancing, drinking, and having sex in the midst of a party setting. The two guys finally introduce themselves as Calvin and James McAllen. Shocked, but not surprised to know that their brothers, Trystin extends in her hand as a greeting and introduces herself. Calvin scans the room and spots Kaylin laughing with a broad shouldered tall white guy. Calvin makes the assumption that the guy is a football player, most likely a third string wide receiver, but tries to play it off. He excuses himself from Trystin and James and makes his way over to Kaylin. He walks over casually, but cocky and places a small kiss on Kaylin's cheek. Kaylin instantly reacts in rage, but manages to keep her cool because she realizes she is still in front of company. Kaylin excuses her from the guy she was having a conversation with and directs Calvin upstairs. Calvin thinks he's getting lucky and goes in for another kiss. Kaylin jumps back and slaps him and yells at him for disrespecting her. Kaylin will always keep it classy in front of public, but in private she unleashes everything that has been built up in her. Calvin approaches her again, but more aggressively. Kaylin stares into his eyes and all of a sudden starts to melt. Calvin kisses her and this time Kaylin doesn't push away. Back downstairs Trystin and James are grinding on the dance floor to Akon's hottest new song. Their eyes are connecting as the rhythm of their bodies move to beat of the music. Calvin and Kaylin have managed to pull away from each other's faces and introduce themselves and strike up a good conversation. Kaylin usually doesn't make out with guys she just meets and barely knows, but something was different. Calvin learns that Kaylin is only 17 and he is 18. He has just graduated from high school and is planning to attend college in North Carolina to play basketball. Kaylin still has one more year left of high school so she knows that this can only be a summer fling. Calvin apologizes for being so forward with her, but there was something about her. Kaylin knew that line, but didn't care; the only thing that mattered was the softness of his lips. Now this is a compromising position for Kaylin, because she isn't pressured into sex, but is curious. To stop herself, she text Trystin a 911 message. Trystin stops dancing with James and immediately reacts. James looking puzzled and thinking he did something wrong, follows Trystin upstairs. Once Calvin and Kaylin are once engaged in a heavenly intoxicating kiss, they are interrupted by Trystin and James. Calvin looks disappointed, but Kaylin his thankful for her friends perfect timing. They all four stand around the room looking confused, agitated, grateful, and a look of "ooo girl" coming from Trystin. Calvin explains to Kaylin and Trystin that he and James have to leave now, but look forward to running into them again. They exchange numbers, kisses, and they all exit the room. Kaylin thanks Trystin for saving her, but Trystin doesn't respond. Kaylin ask what's wrong and Trystin tells her that she feels as if she's seen them before. Kaylin assures her friend that she's just trippin, Trystin agrees, and they get back to the party. Kaylin finds this to be such a weird, but satisfying night. Kaylin leaves the party while the last firework of the night circles around the sky. She heads home to find her little sister in bed and her dad asleep on the couch. She covers him up and heads to her room. Kaylin lies down and right as she is getting ready to fall asleep she receives a call from Mr. Calvin McAllen. They talk for the rest of the night and make plans to hang out within the next week. By the end of the conversation, the line is dead and Kaylin is sound asleep dreaming about her old life; a part of her that no one knows about, not even her father or best friend.
