"What's going on?" Holly asked wondering.
"Well I wanted you all together to tell you that I'm going back to England tomorrow." Julie said breaking the news to them.
"Why? Can't you stay just a little bit longer, granny?" Dylan asked with his Dad's famous pout.
"Oh I wish I could dear but I have some things to do back home," Julie said looking into Dylan's sad eyes.
"So what time do you leave, tomorrow, Mum?" Simon asked curiously.
"My flight leaves at four in the afternoon. So since this is my last night with you, I would like to cook supper. Is that alright with everyone?"
"Yes of course, thanks mother."
"It's my pleasure."
"Do you need any help with dinner?" Paula asked wanting to give her a hand.
"Oh no dear, but thank you anyway," Julie said graciously turning down the offer.
"We'll I'm going to my room. I love you all but I just need to lie down and have some peace and quiet."
"Darling, do you need a glass of water?"
"Uh no thanks, I'm fine."
"Okay."
Simon watched as Paula exited the family room, walked to the foyer, and up the stairs. He waited for the door to shut and after five minutes, he made his way upstairs. His Mom told him to leave Paula alone but he listened to his own advice. He headed upstairs and went directly to the door. He didn't hear any noise coming from the other side of the door so he placed his ear on the door. He stayed there, in that position, for about thirty seconds and still he didn't hear anything. Now he honestly didn't care if she said to leave her alone because he was very worried about her. So he quietly opened the door and saw that she was sleeping. He didn't want to wake her so he turned around and started to open the bedroom door again. Just then he heard a fading voice coming from the bed.
"Honey, what part of 'leave me alone' didn't you get?"
"I'm sorry love, I just wanted to check on you."
"Thanks, but I'm fine, now go."
As soon as he shut the door he walked around the upstairs twice. Lily, Holly and Dylan were busy playing a game, but he didn't stay long enough to understand what the game was. He made his way back to Paula's bedroom door about five minutes later. He opened the door and just went in. Paula knew that he was back without opening her eyes because it room was filled with his scent.
"What can I do for a little break?!"
"I'm sorry love."
He watched her as she got up from the bed. She had a look that made him have a look of terror on his face. So he quickly opened the door and sprinted down the stairs and into the kitchen.
"Hey Mum, um can I help you with supper?"
"You went in the room right? I told you not to and to give her some rest. Son what am I going to do with you?"
"Okay I'm sorry but I just couldn't help it. I was getting extremely worried about her, Mum."
"Hey Dad if I was you I would start running because I can her Mom's footsteps. I know from experience that you are a dead man walking. Just do what I do and hide." Holly said and taking a break from cutting vegetables while Dylan and Lily made the salad together.
"Hey love weird seeing you here," Simon said rubbing the back of his head with his right hand.
All the kids looked at each other and smirked. This was not part of their plan but it was still fun to watch. They had watched the fights on the television in the dressing room but this was different. This was a live fight that they found very cute because this was the way that their parents interacted with each other. That night for dinner they had spaghetti, toss salad and French bread. During the course of dinner Simon tried to get Paula to smile at him so he played two meatballs up in his nose, on in each nostril. She glared at him but she began to laugh because she thought how cute it was that he was trying so hard to get her to laugh. Just then she giggled and immediately tried covered her mouth with her hand but not before he spotted her.
