So charming, so sweet
Lovely eyes and a lovely tie
I adore the way you flash your teeth
I love the way you said goodbye
A jock and a girl never fated to be
You could be daring and oh so nice
Sadly, that I still can't see
Why you'd turn colder than ice
I tried to reach out and take your hand
But you snatched it back before I could
I suppose you wished to be a better man
By facing away from where I stood
The world you live in is so different from mine
As mine was where youth and laughter grew
Yours was one where you had no time
To do such idle things like those you knew
But then again I might simply be arrogant
Or thinking way too far ahead
But at least this much to me is apparent
To you, I'd be better off dead.
Sorry my love, I shouldn't speak
Words are such a waste of space
But my future it'd seem so bleak
If I cannot see your face
