It was the first day after summer break and as always I didn't want want to go back to school because I prefer staying indoors and reading. Last year I suggested to mom that I have a tutor and stop attending school altogether but she freaked out, telling me I'll be home schooled when she's dead so I have to stuck it up and go to school. I woke up and took a shower and when I got out my mom had already picked an outfit for me.Yeah, she chooses what I wear because"I don't behave like a lady".I wore my navy blue round dress and my azure wedges and took a look at the mirror. Gosh, my mom is crazy. I don't know why she keeps on making me wear dresses.
I said I went to the bathroom and put on my blue contacts even though I prefer my spectacles, straightened my curly light brown hair and applied lip balm.
"Jessica. Zoe is here" mom said. Zoe is my Brazilian and white friend who is the total opposite of me. She likes dancing, has had three boyfriends, has long dark brown hair.
"I'll be there in a minute"I said as I grabbed my phone and made my way down the stairs.
"Hey",Zoe said as I arrived in the kitchen and hugged her. She looked like she wanted to cry.
"I'm back. I arrived yesterday night, what's wrong?" I asked curiously. "Nothing is wrong. I just missed you even though you spend two hours every day reading some Sci Fi book I don't understand." I laughed at what she said and you know what? She's telling the truth.I always make sure I spend at least two hours everyday reading, especially Sci Fi. "I missed you too Zee." I checked the time and I realized we had thirty minutes to get to school. Zee went out to her car.
"Bye mom" I called out as I got out the door.
Zee was waiting for me in her black Mini Cooper convertible, and I was so happy to see I just got in her car and hugged her again. She was wearing white boyfriend jeans and a metallic ash crop top. As we drove to school she told me about her holiday in Brazil and I was surprised to find out that she broke up with Liam, her boyfriend of 7 months.
"Come on Jesse, we're at school" she said as she got out of her car. I slowly opened the door and we made our way to our lockers. "What's wrong Jesse?" Zee asked as we walked towards her locker after taking my books."Noth..." I said answering her when someone pushed me and I fell straight into the hands of some boy.
I know falling on your butt hurts but it was ten times better than falling in the hands of some boy I didn't know."I am sorry" I said as helped me stand up straight. "It's okay" he replied with a smile"and by the way my name is Jonathan."he introduced himself and I was not sure whether to introduce myself or walk away when Zoe cleared her throat to remind us of her presence. "She's Jessica, my best friend, and I'm Zoe" she said and I had a silent prayer thanking God for having Zoe as my best friend. "We should get going, thanks for saving my friend" Zoe said as we walked in the direction towards her locker.
It's my first book so I understand if it sucks or anything like that. I hope it gets a few views.
