It all happened so fast, I could feel my body hit the icing cold water. For every second that passed I could feel my body slowly sinking deeper into the black ocean, I embraced the horrible pain building up in my chest. I could feel my body getting heavier.
One...two...three, suddenly everything went black, black was a colour I had seen, admired and lived with my whole life. Black was the only colour I saw in the morning and at night. I didn't know what dreams were, did dreams even exist? Maybe it was all of the black smoke I breathed in during my time, or the dark cloud always hanging over my head that no one actually could see, or even the black colour on the whiskey bottle my so called father decided to drink on that day.One...two...three, just like that I was back in the living room I grew up in. I decided to take my seat in the black sofa facing the door opening. The old and used sofa squeaked under me when I took my seat. I heard the front door opening and how a person started walking towards the living room with heavy steps. I could hear the person sighing and mumbling something. I stayed in my seat on the sofa and waited. The mumbling could be heard much louder now and after a while a man stood in the door opening facing me. I recognised the black jacket that my father always wore. He took unsteady footsteps towards the sofa I was sitting in, finally he got to the sofa without tripping and falling. He hadn't even noticed me in the sofa. Without a word he fell down on the sofa and the he continued to get out his daily dose of whiskey. He poured a full glass for himself and then turned on the TV. "Can you make me some food, please? I'm hungry." I tried saying with my shaking voice. "You f**got, what do you think this is? A damn hotel? If you want food so bad go get it yourself!" My father yelled at me. He then proceeded to stand up from the couch making his way towards me. I could already feel how my eyes started watering, I could feel the tears forming and how they tried to escape from my eyes. I saw how he closed his hand into a fist and aimed at my face. I could only make out a closed fist coming at me, then I blinked and it all went black.
One...two...three, that's how long it took until I could feel the hit against my pale face. I could feel the smell of alcohol in their heavy breathing. One...two...three, that's how many they were. The only thing I could see now was three unknown figures all dressed in black just like the night. It made it difficult to separate the pitch black night from the three figures before me. The only thing separating them from each other was the lamp post a bit from them. I could hear them screaming now, but I couldn't make out any of the words. All of a sudden I could feel myself getting more dizzy and I couldn't see anything. Suddenly I could hear one of them screaming and this time I heard. "You're a f**king coward. It's just a cigarette, it can't hurt you, you little f**got." I felt my eyelids getting heavier again and everything went black again.
One...two...three, that's how many years I had my mother. I saw her skinny body and her constant beautiful smile. It was difficult to see the beautiful smile through my constantly running tears. But there was one thing that I could see clearly, her black long hair. It always reminded me of silk. Maybe black wasn't the most horrible colour. All the horrible things always brings a bit happiness I guess. Maybe mom and I'll meet again. Dad told me that mom went to heaven and that we all go there after our death. But he also told me that people that have done bad things and sinned goes to a place called hell. I wonder where I'll end up. Will I end up in the dark or the light? Will I ever meet my mother again? There's so many questions but still no answers. Maybe I'll get the answers I want now, maybe this is the start of a new beginning. If that's it, then I'm more than ready for my new life.
One...two...three, that's how many meters I sunk. I could feel my lungs fill up with the cold water, it was painful. When I sunk three more meters it all went darker and darker until finally it all went black.
