Someone grabbed me from behind. I screamed than giggled because I realized it was my boyfriend, Josh. We turned on the TV and cuddled we were about to put on a movie called 20 Hours Till U Die. When putting the DVD in the News came on- Mass breaks outs at Darkwoods Valley Jail. 5 missing convicted murders beware if seen contact police on- 000. These are the names of the murderers- Dan Marci, William Johnston, Marcus Maroo, Alexandra Sandy & Larine Hopeless. I'm Piece Boston, 8 News, Goodnight. We didn't think much of it so we continued to turn on Twenty Hours Till U Die. It was about a person that got a Ransom note saying Twenty hours till u die and twenty hours later they get stabbed and die. Once the movie ended I was about to say goodbye to Josh when we heard a scream.......
I rushed down stairs to the apartment below were I heard more screaming & then a loud Crash. Josh rang the police and then the ambulance while I was trying to open the door by using a hair clip because this apartment key was different to my apartment key. Once josh finished ringing the police and ambulance he helped me open the door when he asked, have you checked to see if it is unlocked? No I hadn't. I then checked to see if it was unlocked, and of course it was. We opened the door not knowing what to expect.
Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was a body lying on the ground with stab wounds to his chest and blood pouring out of it but the thing that caugh our attention the most was the fact that the knife was gone. It was clearly and older man about in his 70's or 80's. But it was too late by the time we finished opening the door the murderer had gone and he was dead.
We looked around the body for any clues evidence but then Josh started shouting at me to come over to where he was and so I did. I came straight over and saw a note in the pocket of a leather jacket which was hanging on an coat hanger. So Josh and I opened it read- Twenty hours till U Die! Date received- 11/4/08 time received- 00.00 midnight. Me and Josh looked at each other and then it clicked today is the 11/4/08 and the time is 8.30 pm which is twenty hours and 30 minutes from midnight and we heard the scream roughly 30 minutes ago......... 'IT'S THE POLICE COME OUT WITH YOUR HANDS UP!!!!!! ' So we did what the police said and walked out and when they realized that we where just thirteen year old kids & then we told them that we were the people that rang the police and we also told them that the person had died of 4 stab wounds to the chest. So the police and ambulance went inside to confirm and recover the body. Josh and I just realized that we hadden't told them about the note and what we had discovered so we rush over to the police and told them. He was amazed that we hat found the note and actually weren't all that scared that the victims attacker could come back. He was also shocked when he found out that we had found some very important evidence for the police.
All of a sudden a police officer asked us to come over to her, so we when over to her and we were shocked to here what she said. ' Paul tells me that you found some very important evidence so I and the rest of the group have come to the conclusion that we believe you children should be use full in this case so were wondering if you would like to help us out? If you're brave that is.' Josh and I agreed because we had always wanted to do something like this and then we introduced our selves. Then the police officer introduce herself. Her name is Katie. After introducing herself, Katie asked if we knew about the brake outs at Darkwoods Valley Jail. We did know so we told her that we were aware that 5 convicted murders had escaped from Darkwoods Valley Jail. Katie was surprised that we paid attention to the news flash as most children our age pay no attention to these things. She was also glad because she didn't have to explain who Dan Marci was to us. She thought Dan Marci is the person who wrote the letter but they were not convinced that he killed the man. They thought he was the note writer because he has left notes before saying things like you will die and things like that before he murdered the victim. But they did not believe he murdered this victim because he climbs though windows to get out and in of the house and there are no smashed windows or any thing like that. Plus every window in the apartment is locked but the door was unlocked and a bit damaged. Then I realized that we herd a crash after the last scream but before I could tell her......
