Trolls- The Aftermath

The Start

After they pushed the cloud guy off the toadstool,

Poppy asked Branch with a determined face, "Did you really mean what you said in the pot?"

" Ummmm, what pot?" Branch replied while avoiding eye contact but he knew that even Poppy was not that naïve.

 "Common Branch, I'm not that dumb and so are you. So answer the question do you really mean what you said back in the pot which we're in a few hours ago?" Poppy asked with strict look and while tapping her feet on the toadstool.

 Woah, she really wants the answer , huh? Branch thought.

 Should I tell her my feelings? He asked his mind.

No! She may not feel the same. The mind replied sharply.

 But before Branch could lie to Poppy, his heart took control of his mouth and blurted out all of his feelings to Poppy.

 "Of course, I meant everything I said as I have a crushed on you since the day you tried make me feel better. And I kept all the invitations that you gave to me because... somehow they seemed to keep me happy even when I was grey and gloomy."

He was surprised that happened and was too embarrassed to look at Poppy so he quickly gained interest in his blue coloured toes. Poppy remained silent and Branch could not read her face as he looked at his toes.

Oh no! What have I done! I probably scared her with my feelings and she might not talked to me again! Argh, why are you so stubborn, Branch? Branch scolded himself silently.

Suddenly, two soft arms wrapped around his body and a pink hired girl laid her head on his shoulders.

Branch was shocked and he continued to remain frozen. Until Poppy silently said in a soft voice,

"Thank you Branch, never thought you will return those feelings , I have for you for a long time."

She pulled back and cupped his hands and smiled that smile he endured so much. Branch returned that smile before making it disappear.

"But what about Creek, I thought you like him?"

Poppy blushed for a sec before replying in a awkward voice,

" Yeah I used to anyway because at that time , I was losing hope on you as you don't show any sign that you love me back. Plus, you always crushed my invitations in front of my eyes and was always grumpy all the time so that did not show a good sign."

Poppy took a deep breath and let it out before continuing,

"But that little crush is over , cause I got a new crush and that crush is standing in front of me."

Poppy softly smiled. Meanwhile , Branch was trying his best not to cry so his face scrunched up a bit making Poppy giggle which make him giggle too. Soon, they are both giggling while still holding each other hands.After the giggling died , Branch pulled Poppy in a tight hug , saying in an affectionate voice ," I love you, Poppy"

Poppy was shocked by his action but hugged him back but even tighter. " I love you too, Branchy."

Branch smiled at the nickname and knew that this was the start of something new.
