The Leaves of Autumn  drifted silently along a cool breeze that swept though the corners of Sydney. Zac was enjoying the last minutes of his Semester Break with his childhood friend as the sun set set at the horizon. It was nearly dinnertime, and Ariel Millstone had to leave in a few minutes---But she could take a little punishment. Spending time with Zac was worth it, after all. As they sat on the trunk of the treehouse that was not very far from their houses, the sun started to touch the horizon.

"Are you ok with going back to school?" Ariel asked, looking up at the sky as little stars started to appear one by one.

Zac didn't answer.

"Think you'll be fine if I was with you?" She asked again.

Ariel knew that Zac hated school more than anything, and he would rather not talk about it. But Zac didn't want to ruin it for his friend.
"I guess so..."

Ariel smiled. As the stars blanketed the sky, Zac couldnt help noticing the fact that she looked a lot prettier at night. No wonder she was the popular one in the school.
Zac couldn't resist smiling back back.

A tall teenager approched them as the fireflies began to fly around them, making the moment seem a lot more beautiful.

"Ari" said the teenager. "Dinner is ready. Took me years to get the rice out of that ricecooker. You better go before I eat everything"

Ariel just smiled at her brother, who should be in collage instead of cooking dinner of his family. "I'd like to stay,"  She told Zac. "But I guess I'll have to leave now."

Zac only nodded, not responding to her.

So Ariel went home to eat dinner, leaving Zac alone to enjoy the fireflies. He let go of the thought of school, not wanting to spoil the night anymore.

Nothing could possibly go wrong as long as he had her.

Or so he thought.
