Luke sat alone in his apartment, sitting on the couch as he thought about just happened. He never told Calum about that night of the party... the night he slept with Michael. What would he say? Would he be mad? He couldn't lie to the man he was planning on marrying... but did he even want to marry him anymore?
"Babe? I'm home," Calum said, coming into their apartment. He smiled and sat next to his fiance, wrapping his arms around him and beginning to kiss his neck softly.
"Hey, you okay?" Luke asked, looking down at the Kiwi boy.
"I'm fine..." he whispered. "I just had a bit of a rough time at work..."
"What happened?" He sighed and looked down.
"I got dropped from the case..."
"What? Why?" He shook his head.
"We were the least expensive firm on board... the most expendable..."
"I'm so sorry, baby," Luke whispered, hugging him tightly.
"It's fine... I was just." He sighed. "I was looking forward to the bonus, because I wanted to plan the best honeymoon ever... for you."
"You wanted the bonus for me?" Luke asked, quietly. Calum just nodded his head. Luke smiled and kissed Calum softly. "I love you..."
"I love you too..." Calum lay across Luke's lap, allowing the boy's long arms to slip around his waist and hold him. They sat together on the couch silently and holding each other. Just being in each other's presence was enough.

"Ashton, we need to talk..." Luke said sitting infront of the boy. He wasn't wearing handcuffs at the moment, but he looked worse than ever. He was being held under protective custody, and he didn't have any access to the drug he depended on.
"What is it, Lukey? Are you mad at me?"
"You punched a cop in the fave yesterday..."
"I tight he was a spider..."
"Ashton, you're in enough shit as it is, okay? I don't need you making things harder on us."
"Right of course. Hands to myself..."
"Thank you. Your court appearance is coming up and I don't want them to be able to plead insanity on your part,  understood?"
"Yeah sure whatever. I'll be perfectly normal. Lukey's bitch." He rolled his eyes and walled out of the room, leaving the curly haired boy alone.
"Is that Ash?" Calum asked coming over to him.
"Yeah... he's not doing great..."
"Do you think they'd let me talk to him?"
"Yeah, definitely. Just uh... be careful. He's different..." Calum nodded before going into the room. Luke walked over and sat at his desk, calling up one of the partners on the case.

Calum sat infront of Ashton as the boy just stared at him with a soft expression.
"What are you doing here?" Ashton whispered.
"I work here..."
"So you're a lawyer too and I got stuck with the one who ditched out on us?"
"Hey, that's not fair. You know he had a reason for leaving..."
"Yeah, did he ever tell you that reason?"
"Uh... no."
"Wow. Great reason... does he even talk to you anymore?"
"It'd be a little hard for him not to talk to me, because we're engaged and all..." Ashton scoffed.
"Never thought you'd be the one to settle down... especially because you're the one who completely rejected me..."
"I never rejected you. I told you that as long as you were shooting heroin, it would never happen. You made your choice by disappearing with that girlfriend of yours. Whatever happened to her, by the way?"
"She died..." Calum instantly went quiet. "She overdosed... and I let her... hell, I nearly joined her, actually..."
"Ashton, I'm sorry-"
"No. It doesn't matter... congratulations on your engagement... I hope you finally find everything you were looking for..." Calum sighed and stood up, walking to the door.
"The day you left was the worst day of my life... I loved you and I never knew if you were dead or alive... I still love you..." he walked out of the room, without another word.
