I love Saturdays. The feeling you get when you remember its the weekend. But get this its also the last day of my eleventh year of classes. So summertime here I come! Reading all day, watching movies all night. I already have my schedule ready! Ahh.. The feeling of freedom, from stress, worry, and human interaction... I can already taste the Ben & Jerry's..
(Outfit above) I quickly dress in my lazy outfit: A black sweatshirt, black leggings, and a dark grey beanie. I put on red lipstick and eyeshadow with my favourite liquid eyeliner. Why put on make up, you may ask, because there's no reason not to look great. Then, I head downstairs and flop onto my couch to watch the latest episode of Steven Universe. I'm literally addicted to how openly gay it is. Ms. Sugar did a great job.
I hear my stomach growl and I sigh rolling off of the couch. Im surprised at how lazy I am, I couldnt even get up off of the couch. I roll until reach the kitchen, I stand up and rummage through the cabinets where I find my pumpkin spice oreos and hot cocoa. I grab any other food I can find and hoard it on the couch. I sit back, relax and eat myself into a deep sleep.
I wake up to yelling and shuffling. "M wake up." I didn't even have to open my eyes, and I already know who it is. "Wes!" I scream as I propel myself forward and tackle him, all my prior laziness and fatigue gone. We both fall back and I laugh. "Wes you're actually here!" Wes is my brother his real name is actually Weston but his friends and I call him Wes or Wyatt. Ever since two summers ago he's been at college and rarely comes by. And when he does they're the greatest days of my life. I love catching up with him and going on our annual Mall visits. We always go watch the latest ridiculous rom-coms.
When I finally got off of him he had a half happy half irritated look on him face. I frowned "Did I do something wrong?" I stood up slouching over, "No its just that dad's taking us to this wedding-" I was horrified, so much for no more human interaction... "Wedding? But, why?" He straightened out the suit I didn't even notice he was wearing. "We have to go.." I pouted like a two year old, "But I don't wanna..". He brushed my refusal off and said "Dad's going to be here in an hour or two. You have to get ready. Hurry." He said too calmly. I trudged up stairs to find Susan, Wes's girlfriend, in my room picking clothes out. Susan wasn't awful she was just too nice sometimes.
She had on a black mini dress with black and silver pumps, she also had her dark brown hair in a tight bun and was wearing a gold necklace with a matching pair of gold earrings. This woman was the walking definition of fashion. How she heard me come in, I don't know, but she did. "Hey sweetie," she had this habit of calling everyone sweetie, "I just came to pick out some clothes for you. Is that okay? " I nodded silent. It was better to just agree and get it over with. I didn't want to stay with people longer than I had to.
>2hrs Later<
After Susan worked her magic, and finished up the last bouncing curl on my head and sprayed my head with rose scented hair spray she sighed and stepped away from me, admiring her work. When I looked at myself in the mirror that she had handed me, I was about in tears.
The way my curled, bleach blonde hair clashed with the light, almost white, pink knee-length dress was astonishing. The pinkish smokey eye she put on made my eyes pop, with nude lipstick and light blush made my skin shine. "Oh god, I've never looked so good..." I spun in my flowing dress and giggled happily. Susan smiled sincerely and turned her back to me, she then turned back and in her hands were the cutest pair of pumps, ever. I gasped as she handed them over. I carefully stepped into the peachy-tan lace covered heels and clapped like a toddler."Malia, we've got to go." I heard my dad's semi-deep voice called out from downstairs. I thanked Susan as she left my room, probably going to Wes. I quickly grabbed a jacket and carefully made my way downstairs.
As I got down the last step I saw my dad, Damien, wearing a dark grey suit standing next to Wes and Susan. Who seemed to be off in their own world. I chuckled and walked over to the whispering couple, and poked both of their cheeks. They snapped out of it a couple seconds later, Wes mumbling something about privacy and moments ruined. Susan just stared at the ground blushing.
"If you two would stop dry-jumping each other every five seconds we could get to the party on time!" I said with a smirk, which only made Susan redden even more. I laughed and dashed outside as Weston tried to grab my arm. He was blushing slight as he chased me outside. "Come here you little monkey!!" He bellowed.
I had never run so fast in heels.
