Happily, I am sleeping. I am dreaming about walking for the first time. Today is the day! I will walk, just like all the other young giraffes. We live in Mr.Peter's big Safari home. He studies animals for a living, but giraffes are his favorite, and that's why he takes care of my family. I am waking up, I think, and I'm ready to meet the cool morning air. I got a "Good Morning" smile from daddy. Momma is off getting some delicious leaves for breakfast.
I attempt to crawl around, hoping to take a step. I lunged and fell over. Dad nuzzled me, lifting me upright. Momma came over with some bright green leaves.
"Yummy!" I say. I munched on green leaves, still trying to get up between bites. The morning weather rolled around until afternoon came along and I am so frustrated. I am making grunting notices. I am about to blow up. I finally was so mad that Momma nudged me and I was standing. I don't really know how it happened, but it did.1
