Can the past ever be forgotten?

It lingers, unwanted and corrupts the mind's later-in-life decisions. When we look back on all the choices we've made over a lifetime, do we regret them and wish we could take back all those wasted years spent trying to make a final decision?

Not a day goes by without a single thought of Pierce plaguing my mind. The look of sheer hurtand betrayal when I pulled the final trigger is still embedded in my memories. I let the past catch up with me and itcost a life to remedy my errors.
