Once upon a time way deep in the forest, where animals lived together and the ground shone bright green from the moss. There was a young tree who grew happily with his family, he loved to sing in the wind, and feel his leaves rustle in the breeze.
One day while he was singing with his family he noticed and ugly patch on one of his roots, when he looked around he realized it was all around him and as the days grew longer and the nights colder it began to spread. First it completely covered his mother starting from the roots as it grew and grew. The little tree was very sad and started getting sick to. But it didn't spread over him, instead it began to cover his father and one day when he woke up, his father was gone.
The only thing that made the little tree happy was the small patch of sunlight beaming down from one of the great trees, that were so big they had begun to block out the sun. One of the old trees tried to take care of the the little tree but so he grew silent from old age. Now the little tree had no one and soon his little patch of sunlight was gone.
The little tree began to die, he grew sicker each day and was so sad he stopped singing in the wind. When his last leaf finally fell a small bluejay landed in his branches. The bluejay was so sad to see such a tree die so young, so every day the blue jay came back and sang to the tree until he was finally gone. The Bluejay had left for many days. When he came back, the Blue Jay picked up a seed from the little tree and gently carried it in his beak as he flew far, far away. When the Bluejay finally landed, he was on a beautiful hill filled with flowers and a little stream that trickled by.
The Bluejay dug into the ground and placed the seed in the dirt
As the years went by the little tree grew from the Bluejay's seed, and now stands tall and strong on the beautiful hill. Every day the Bluejay visits the hill and sings with the tree as he sways in the wind, happy and at peace with his new friends.
