The moment I touched hands with Rey, a beacon of light began engulfing me as if I were its prey. A warm sensation washed over my core seconds before the setting changed before my eyes.

Perhaps it was a dream or hallucination, but the image was as clear as reality. There is a sudden lightness inside my chest, as if a previous burden had been lifted. I sense the light drawing close to me, making me clench my jaw.

I walk out of my private chamber with clenched fists, sensing my own weakness. I will not be seduced by a feeble padawan. I am Kylo Ren, the apprentice of Supreme Leader Snoke. This is a test — it must be.

Walking past dozens of Stormtroopers, who seem unphased by my anger as usual, I head towards Snoke's throne room, demanding an answer. But the second I lie my eyes on the humanoid-alien creature, my heart sinks. Perhaps my connection with Rey is real and not part of Snoke's plan.

If Snoke were to know, he would order me to take advantage of the Force Bond. But somehow, I don't find the strength in me to betray my trust for Rey. It's like a reflex, which I have no mental control of.

"Ah, young apprentice. The Resistance are low on fuel at last," Snoke coos, his tone similar to that of a serpent. Nodding at the creature who took me into his arms when my family betrayed me, a strange wave of pain strikes me. I clear my throat, pushing away the thought of betraying Snoke.

"Shall we commence the attack?" General Hux asks, who has for once, left the control room. Snoke's blue eyes pierce my core, the thought of him being able to read me brings anxiety. Why am I fearing my own Master?

"Yes," I answer, glaring at Snoke with a stern gaze.

"Good, my apprentice. Your decision is wise," Snoke answers, a cynical smirk plastered on his wrinkled face. "Attack at full force, General."

General Hux gives us a solid nod before walking away. Snoke lets out a laugh, leaning forwards in his throne.

"Was there something you wanted to tell me?" Snoke asks, sensing something different in my behaviour.

"No, sir," I respond, looking away from Snoke. Rey's tear-filled eyes come back to mind, the desperateness in them making me bite my lip. Despite the fact I am surrounded by thousands of men, including Supreme Leader Snoke, I feel alone.

My mother betrayed me. My father betrayed me. Uncle Luke betrayed me. Everybody in the galaxy betrayed me, some way or another. But Rey hasn't — not once. She understands the feeling of loneliness, as if there were something missing.

I shake my head, knowing that my feelings for Rey are a mere fantasy. The Force Bond must be another one of Snoke's plans to see my weakness. But I won't succumb.
