Chapter 57: Think About It
"Why the fuck would you do that, Harper?!" I yelled.
"Because, sweetie, she was keeping us apart. And now, we can be all alone. With no interruptions. You're all mine." she said with lust in her eyes.
"You know what, I was never yours to begin with. And I never will be." I growled, walking away.
"What if I told you I was Phoebe?"
"...who...?" I asked, slowly turning around to look at her.
"Phoebe Mitchell."
"Pheebs? That's... you?" I asked with shock filled at over my bones. "What... happened to you?"
"You moved away. You left me all alone! You didn't even had the courtesy to call!" she yelled with tears slowly filling her eyes.
"I'm... sorry..." I apologized, not wanting to look at her.
"And so I made my parents switch my school. Then after that, I convinced them to buy the house next door to yours." she said.
"What? You... followed me?" I asked, a little startled.
"Yes, I realize I might've gone a little stalker crazy, but I only did it because I love you. Ever since we were little."
"I'm sorry, but, A LITTLE?!" I said angrily. "I never loved you, Harper."
Ouch. I know.
"But I'm the only one who understands your pain!" she screamed, trying to stop me from walking away. "Your dad is dead! My mom is dead! Don't you see, we're meant to be!"
"No, we are not. And you know why? Because you're the reason why she ran away." I said with blank eyes. "You're the reason why the love of my life isn't here anymore."
"No, you are."
"What did you say?" I said, trying to hold back all my anger against her.
"Think about it, you kept on toying with her. You kissed her, but asked me to prom. She gave you a chance of redemption, but you went to prom with me."
"What...? That's not right at all..." I mumbled.
"Think about it." she said, rolling her eyes, before leaving.
She's right.
