CHAPTER 1 ~ Save me?

'I can't do this anymore.... no one ever cares for me...... who will save me?'

You were walking down a bridge on your way back home. It was a cloudy day and it looked like it was about to rain. You just came back from your boyfriends house... or should I say ex-boyfriend. You caught him cheating on you with your best friend. You felt so alone and betrayed. You already were struggling because of your parents divorcing but this just made it worse. Already since your parents started considering a divorce, you started taking pills ... again. Now you were seemingly all alone on this bridge, no sign of anyone else. You felt the first few raindrops fall onto the tip of your nose. You looked off of the bridge and saw that the drop was quite deep.

'No one will care anyways...'

You took off your shoes and climbed over the small railing of the bridge. Now you were standing there, on the edge of that bridge, tears already filling your eyes. You looked up to the sky, closed your eyes, and all the bad memories and thoughts filled your mind again. Your parents divorce, you thought back to your happy childhood,and how your parents always smiled and were happy, and how it changed so drastically. You thoughts went to your sister, who you loved with all your heart, which made it harder for you to listen to her drunken voice over the phone almost everyday. She couldn't understand your parents divorce, and neither could you, she drowned her sadness in alcohol, while you did in drugs. Almost every night she'd call you at 2 or 3 am, and ask you to pick her up from the club. You didn't know what hurt more, your happy little sister becoming a depressed alcoholic or the fact that you weren't able to help her. You thought about your now ex-boyfriend, you two have been together for almost 2 years. You two graduated together, and even were considering getting engaged, which made it harder for you to believe he had just cheated on you. You loved him so much, it felt as if your heart ripped into millions of pieces as you saw him in bed...sleeping with your best friend. You and your best friend knew each other since Elementary School. You and her have shared so many secrets, and have made so many memories together, and all those happy memories got crushed into thousands of shards today. You've basically lost everyone you loved. Your family, your first love, and your best friend. To you life seemed meaningless now. You opened your eyes again, and a few raindrops merged with the teardrops already filling your eyes.

Slowly but surely you let go of the railing you were holding onto. You released your hair which was neatly tied together into a bun, so it now was all loose. You kept your face down, looking at the river peacefully flow, and let your glasses slide off your face, and fall into the river. A few tears fell down with it as well. You now were standing there, nothing holding you back, ready to fall any second. You took a moment to gather yourself, and build the courage to jump. You wanted it so badly, you wanted for all of this to be over. You leaned forward and spread you arms. This was it. You closed your eyes, and had a smile on your face. Because of the rain your clothing and hair were completely soggy, but it didn't matter anymore. It felt as if every second you still endured lasted for minutes. All you wanted was to end this fast. Now your feet were almost off the bridge until you and your whole body got violently ripped back towards the bridge.

??:"ARE YOU CRAZY?! DO YOU WANT TO KILL YOURSELF OR WHAT?"

You weren't sure if it was this person screaming at you, or him preventing you from jumping, you didn't like it. He was just making you suffer for longer. Now your tears streamed over your whole face.

Y/N:"Please...just...let me go...let me do it...."

??:"No. I'll never let a beautiful girl like you end her life like this."

He pulled you into a hug, you were so distracted by his hug that you didn't notice him pull you over the railing and back onto the bridge. He placed his hand onto your face and wiped your tears away with his thumbs. You stayed like that for a few minutes, and exchanged no words. He was much taller than you, so he was able to rest his chin on your head, and you were able to lay your head on his chest. You took your time, and let all the tears out and wet his shirt. After a few minutes had passed he slowly pulled out of the embrace and looked you in the eyes. You looked back at him, and noticed he shed a few tears as well. You two were standing in the rain, staring into each others eyes until you decided to talk to him.

Y/N:"W-why did you save me? Why did you do that?"

??:"I just couldn't watch you do it...I-I couldn't...I'm sorry..."

You two returned to hugging each other. You didn't know what to do besides that, his arms held you close to him, and here in his arms, you felt much safer than anywhere else, you yourself didn't understand why.

??:"If we stay here in the rain we'll get sick...come..I'll take you to my house... there we can talk about everything..If you don't mind...?..."

The tears were still streaming down your face, and it was hard for you to speak, so you just nodded with your head. He held your hand and guided you off of the bridge, a few blocks away, over to his house. You still were slightly in shock, you were so set on dying today, you said your farewells to everyone you loved in your mind, believing that you'll never see them again. You could barely understand that you were still alive, it was so hard for you to incorporate it.And now, instead of laying dead in a river, you were standing in front of the apartment of one of the nicest guys you've ever met...

'He saved me.'
