It's strange that they fear death.

It's like a pond of water, at first it's cool and calm. Yet by simply touching it or having too much wind brush by, ripples happen and makes the water disoriented and confused. But in the end it settles, and becomes calm again, which is the end point in life. To have a calm, and collected life. But not everyone can have one, and not everyone deserves one.

Rae settled down and waited, she knew human time but chose to ignore it as it seemed fictional. Humans worshipped machines and made everything smaller, to their size, So they could comprehend and understand themselves. Time was a great result of this. But they never were alone, they always made room for humans and that's all. Maybe it's time they improved, upon themselves and the world they live in. Rae's master thought that, "Their" world had many flaws, so to speak.

The woman seemed stressed, she paced back and forth. Earning a anxious reshuffling of the demons position.

Then she began dialing a number before she took belongings of seemingly  importance for the child and grabbed her baby. It was not yet Thomas's time, the poor man's pain would soon subside, but now was not the time. A rushing truck with sirens was heard as Rae listened. It was two miles away but she heard it, distinctively, but faintly. About three minutes later, the coughing got worse, and the hospitals ambulance drove up the driveway, creating a cloud of dust as people emerged from the vehicle.

She knew this scene all too well, and could practically taste the soul she'd never get to consume before her. The once bright red eyes changed to an evil shade of crimson, while awaiting for the scene to unfold before her.

She knew this sound well, when humans die, or are fairly close, theg travel there. Others even move out of the way for them to pass. Maybe it's because they know a life is wasting away, and will either be at peace with the living or in a grave at peace with the past.

They put Thomas in the vehicle, and the woman cried for him even though he was receiving help. She cried and got into the vehicle with him with a sleeping, serene, child who was swaddled in blankets. They began to pull out of the driveway as Rae started flying, they traveled fast and she already knew where they were going so she sped up, these things drive fast so she needed a headstart.
