He has deep purple hair, perfectly white teeth, black gauges, a silver nose ring, and a colorful tattoo sleeve.

"Are you okay?" the boy asks, a look of genuine worry on his face.

The younger boy on the ground struggles to find his voice, "Uh...I think I'm okay."

"Here," the purple-haired boy offers Tyler his hand and Tyler takes it.

Tyler is surprised by the boy's immense strength as he lifts him off of the dirty forest floor. Once Tyler is on his feet, the boy keeps his hold on Tyler's hand, seeming to know about his twisted ankle.

"What's your name?" Tyler asks, unable to hold onto his questions any longer.

"I'm Josh. And you're...Tyler, right?"

"Wait, how do you know my name?" Tyler pulls away from Josh's grip and backs into a tree, using the tree to keep his balance.

"Whoa. Calm down. It's just that whenever you come out here, I think it's your brother or something, but some guy always calls the name 'Tyler' and then you climb down from your tree and you leave..." Josh explains.

"So you've been...watching me?" Tyler asks, slightly bothered but at the same time, flattered.

"Yeah, I guess," Josh replies, running his palm along the back of his neck and looking at his shoes.

He's been watching you because he thinks you're a dorky loser.

"Be quiet," Tyler whispers to The Other Voice under his breath.

"What was that?" Josh looks up at Tyler, hearing his whisper.

"Uh, nothing. It was nothing," Tyler answers, wishing he could make The Other Voice go away.

"Why haven't you talked to me before? I knew you were here every time. I just knew it. But why didn't you answer me?" he adds, his voice cracking with anxiety.

"I...I don't know. You were always kind of intimidating up in your tree. I always thought that you wanted to be left alone, I guess."

"Huh. Well, I'm not a huge fan of silence. Silence makes it so that I am forced to be alone with my own thoughts. I don't know why I come here. Trees are completely silent..." Tyler trails off.

"Hey, what if we met here tomorrow and...I don't know...didn't sit in silence," Josh suggests, giving Tyler an adorable grin.

"Sure thing, Joshy," Tyler gives the shorter boy a friendly punch on the arm.

Josh winks and walks off.

"Wait," Tyler calls, before Josh gets too far.

The other boy turns to face Tyler, who is still leaning up against the same tree.

"I kinda can't walk, can you help me home?" Tyler asks as Josh makes his way back to him.

"Yeah, of course," Josh places Tyler's arm around his strong shoulders and the boys head towards the Joseph house.
