Chapter 42. Helpless

Lexi's POV

I woke up and sighed. Negan should be here in a few days to collect 'his stuff'.

I got out of bed and walked over to Andi's bed. I looked in and she was gone. I ran out of my room and downstairs.

"Where's Andi..." I asked and I saw that she was in Carl's arms. I calmed down and he walked over to me. He handed her to me and I kissed her head.

"She's okay." Carl said with a smile and planted a kiss on my lips. I turned around and walked back up to my room. I laid Andi in her crib and went to mine and Carl's closet. I picked out a green v neck shirt and some jeans. I put them on with my brown combat boots. I put my hair in a high ponytail and went into the bathroom and started to brush my teeth and stood at the door to keep an eye on Andi.

After I finished I grabbed Andi and went downstairs. I saw Carl put gun in waistband and he looked at me.

"He's here. Early." Carl said and I nodded. I grabbed Andi's diaper bag and walked out the back door. I walked a few houses down Until I came up to Mary's back door. There was no time to knock so I just walked in.

"Why hello Lexi." Mary said and I smiled.

"Will you please watch Andi." I asked and she nodded and took my baby from my arms. I kissed her on the head and started to walk away.

"Oh and be careful. Negans here." I said and walked out the door. I walked between the houses and saw the saviors marching down the streets like the own the place.

I started to walk down the sidewalk when I looked up and saw his face. The face of my brother. I stopped and we made eye contact. He looked horrible. A tear ran down my face and I can just hear Merle scolding me to quit being a baby.

"Don't look at him!" A man yelled at me. I flinched and began walking back to the house.

I walked onto the road and saw a man go into our house. No. I walked in and Carl was just standing there. I walked up to him and looked him in the eye.

"What is going on? We had half set aside for them." I said and he sighed.

"Apparently we don't tell them what to take. They just get to take whatever they want. " he said and I nodded. I hate this. We can't protect ourselves from them. They just get to do whatever they want. Or we die. They took a chair out of the house and I followed them. I saw Rick holding Negans bat. He was video tapping Rick with Deanna's camera.

"Now who is this pretty little lady. Of wait I remember her. Yes. Carls little girlfriend." He said  and caressed my face. I just stood there.

"Now where is the sick girl. " Negan said and looked at Rick.

"I hope you'd like to pay your respects." Gabriel said and Negan kinda jumped a little

"Holy shit. You lookin creepy as hell with that smile on your face. " he said and I just turned around and walked away. I walking back inside and Carl pulled his gun out and shot at the floor.

"Put it back or the next one goes in you. " Carl said tot hat man that of our box of medicine.

"Carl what the hell" I said as Rick and Negan walked in.

"This reminds me. You have a lot of guns. And I want them. " Negan said as he snatched Carls gun. Shit.

They left the house and I stormed upstairs.

"Lexi what is your problem. " Carl asked as he follows me.

"What is my problem? Your the one shooting at people when we could get killed cause of your stupid actions. Just cause of that someone could die. It could be me. Judith. Or even your own daughter. And you don't seem to give a shit. " I said and screamed in frustration. I stood the other way not facing him. I was pissed. Even though he is trying to protect his family.

I felt his hand on my waist and he hugged me from behind.

"I care about you all too much. I hate sitting here and not able to protect you anymore." He said and I placed my hands over his.

"I know. It sucks. " I whispered. I heard a gunshot and jumped. Carl put his hands on my face.

"Calm down. It's okay. Everything is going to be okay. " he whispered as tears ran down my face. He wiped them with his thumb and I closed my eyes.

"I just want to not be scared anymore. " I said and he sighed. I looked up at Carl and he placed his lips on mine slowly. It was a simple kiss but it showed passion and love. It was a calming sensation that I was familiar with but never got tired of. It was something I couldn't live without.

He pulled away and put this forehead to mine.

"Your my everything. Just remember that. Not matter what happens you and Andi is all that matters. I love you so much." He said. Now I know that's not true. Judith is everything to him. And to me but Andi, she's my daughter. My blood. She is my everything. And Carl is the love of my life who I can't live without. He is my other half. Without him I'd go out of my freaking mind.

"I love you too." I finally said back.

Holy crap guys. I haven't updated in forever. I feel horrible but I'm updating a lot today since season 7 part 2 is on tonight so I have to get caught up!!!
