Spirit Seeker

Chapter 7

The good thing was that he wasn't gaining. I turned sharply to the left followed by Zero. 

"Where are you going?" Atwell asked 

"Around the city"  I replied

We lost our distance and now he was gaining.

"Can't anything go my way!" I shouted just so I could hear. Suddenly it started snowing, but not hard enough to lose Zero. Or the man.

He was a few feet behind me now, "Wait, stop I just wanted to talk!" He shouted at me but I ignored him, "You went for your sword and I reacted, I'm sorry!" 

I looked back and slowed down, Zero following. "What do you want? Okay, maybe I did follow you but At- I was curious." I corrected myself before saying Atwell. That would have been bad.

"What were you going to say?" He asked, 

"It's none of your business." I shouted dismounting Boomerang.

"Considering you followed me I would think it's my business!" He shouted back. 

"Well it's not!" I was not about to explain the Seasons and Atwell to this boy.

"Well I am Carlos." He said and held out his hand. I stared at it, we were just fighting like three seconds ago, were we fighting or making friends?

"Aren't you going to take it?" Zero butted in, and earned himself a glare.

"Fine, I'm Spaze, but call me Z" I said forcing myself to shake his hand. Sparks flew through my body and I quickly retracted my hand from his. The sparks stopped. Carlos laughed.

"It's not funny" I growled.

"Well looks like we have something in common." Carlos answered, I looked at him confused.

"The wolf thing." He corrected himself. I froze in fear. "The howl sounded realistic so I thought you had a-" Suddenly my hand had a fist full of his dark blue shirt.

"If you tell anyone I'm a wolf I will claw your heart out" I warned growling at him.

"Why would I tell anyone, I am too." He replied calmly. Again I froze

"Is this possible Atwell?"  I asked. 

I only saw you like this but I suppose it could be a defense purpose, if the spirit feels truly threatened, I'm trying to reach out to her now." Atwell replied.

"There's a house that has some more of us, they're my pack" Carlos continued after I didn't answer him. Then he looked at Zero, "Is he one too?"

"No" I growled.

"Should I go with Carlos, Atwell?" I asked

"Check it out," he replied 

"Okay fine, I'll go, but he comes too." I said

"Okay just you might have to watch his back." Carlos warned as he mounted his horse.

I mounted mine and realized that Zero didn't dismount his horse. 

I followed Carlos back into the city, and something deep inside of me seemed to open, I've never felt so alive.

"I have opened up your wolf part of you. She might shift expectantly but she'll no talk to you. Like I am" Atwell's voice thundered through my head.

"Okay," I replied,

Another voice entered my head and sounded like me, "This might be what I've been waiting for, I am sorry if I shift. I sometimes can control it."
