I couldn't move. The Spirit Atwell standing in front of me. I bowed my head and Zero took my lead.
"What would you like Wolf Spirit Girl?" Atwell asked looking at Zero.
"Lord Atwell, I have come to take a big step in both the spirit's and human's kind." I started, "I would like to merge with you, so I can protect earth and bring the Seasons back."
Atwell didn't seem impressed, "You know that I had trusted a human once and he betrayed me?"
"Yes Lord Atwell, I do, and I'm very sorry for that. I'm a different human, but if you don't wish to merge with me then I will peacefully go, no harm to anyone." I said.
"You know this could kill you, if we merged." Atwell informed.
"Yes, I am aware of the many risks that I am taking if you decide to merge with me, but I will take each and every risk to bring the land back to how it was, without the Winter Queen." I glanced at Zero but he only gave me a confused look.
I shifted back into my human form, which was actually easy. "If you'd like to not merge I will continue my search, and if none of you merge I will face the Winter Queen by myself." I knew I sounded like a suicidal person but what I said came from the heart.
"Okay, I will merge with you, but only to protect this land and restore peace and the Seasons to it." Atwell agreed.
"Thank you Lord Atwell" I said and he walked forward, the deer was bigger like my wolf.
"Now if this kills you I'm sorry, but if it works then you might feel a lot of pain." Atwell informed.
"I know Sir." I said. Atwell touched his soft deer nose of my head and pain surged through out my body, I glanced at Zero and he had horror written all on his face. I collapsed from the pain, but recovered pushing myself onto my feet forcing my body to obey me.
"Now we have fully merged and I can see your heart is true." Atwell said. "But you still have to talk to me with your mind. So Zero here doesn't think your a lunatic."
"Okay, Atwell do you know where one of your Season palls are?" I asked through my mind, turning towards the exit. Zero followed with a look of disbelief in his eyes.
"No I am sorry but I can lead you to the next city if that would help." He replied.
"That would be good thank you."
"Oh, and by the way I can see your memories, and your thoughts, I am sorry" Atwell said.
"It's okay, I'm fine" I lied and I knew he could tell I wasn't but didn't reply. I mounted Boomerang and started following his directions to the next city.
----------
When we reached the city the streets were filled with people and horses.
"It's good to be out again, seeing every-" Atwell started but stopped mid sentence. "Follow that boy, his power was like yours before we merged."
"Okay," I replied. Then to Zero I said, "Watch after Boomerang, I have to do something."
He nodded. "Okay Z"
The boy weaved his way expertly down the streets.
"He's too agile, don't stop following him." Atwell whispered.
I took a deep breath and could smell him. . Smell him.
"Why can I smell him?" I asked worriedly.
"It's just you wolf side of you, your senses are enhanced, and if and when you merge with my brother and sisters they will enhance even further." Atwell said informatively.
"Okay at first I thought I was going crazy" I laughed to myself.
"Keep going and don't lose him, which seems very unlikely."
"What happens if I-" Something hard hit my chest.
"Why are you following me?" it was the boy that I was indeed following, "And why do you feel weird?"
"You know" I started trying to catch my breath which so elegantly was blasted out of my body, "It would have been nicer to just ask"
"Why are you following me?" He repeated,
"Same reason, you felt different." I retorted. The man seemed my about my age, maybe older.
"You going to tell me why you feel different?" He asked puling me into an ally way,
"Not unless you tell me first" I was just about to unsheathe my sword if he attacked but he didn't
"You first" I heard him say and I replied shaking my head,
"Nope."
He started growling like I did when I was on my horse finding Atwell.
"He seems like a wolf too, same temper." Atwell noted,
" I don't have a temper" I growled at him.
"Z, you said that out loud" Atwell said.
"I got that"
"Who are you talking to?" The man interrupted my chat with Atwell.
"Nobody, just myself" I growled at him. Maybe I do have a temper now that my wolf spirit emerged.
"Then why do you seem like your having a conversation?" He said. Lifting his hand. Instinctively I reached for my sword but he gripped my hands with one of his. With the other hand he was reaching for something behind him.
I realized it was his own sword. With out thinking I knew how to warn Zero. I threw my head back and howled like I did when I first started to shift in front of him. The man hesitated and I took my chance to pry my hands free.
I dashed out of the ally with amazing speed and retraced my steps to Zero.
"Nice move" Atwell commented, he probably looked back at my memories.
"Thanks, it's starting to become a habit."
I saw Zero confused and turning, holding the reins to the horses.
"Mount up!" I yelled at him and with out thinking he did. I followed right after him.
"I heard you howl, you alright?" He shouted back as we started our horses in a sprint to the edge of the city. I always hated cities and now I know I have another reason why. The streets were busy, people running in and out of buildings bundled up and staring at me for not wearing anything.
I looked behind me and saw the man with his own white and tan horse chasing after us.
"When will the people I fight with not have horses?" I mumbled to myself.
