"Oh, my poor, poor Tyler," Kelly Joseph begins wrapping a bandage around the twisted ankle of her oldest son.

"Mom, honestly, I'm fine," insists Tyler as his mother continues fawning over him.

"How did you possibly manage to get back to the house, Ty?"

"I just limped, it took a while but I'm here, so..."

"Oh, honey. I'm so sorry. Let me go get some more bandages, I'll be right back," his mother walks away.

You're such a liar, Tyler had been wondering when The Other Voice would return to undermine every single thing he said. Most of the time, The Voice would just go against Tyler's thoughts but lately it had been against his words, as well.

"Stop it," Tyler thinks back at The Other Voice.

Why don't you address me by my name? You're such an inconsiderate, rude jerk, Tyler.

"You spend so much time telling me everything that's wrong with me, you haven't bothered to mention your name. Weird because you've been talking to me for seventeen years and now suddenly you have a name?" Tyler snaps back in his head.

I'm sure I've told you this millions of times, Tyler. You should pay attention for once in your life.

The boy suddenly realizes that he is talking to himself inside of his own mind. The voice that has been haunting him his entire life was really Tyler. A twisted, insecure version of Tyler.

"You know what? You are me, you live in my head. I get to decide your name," Tyler thinks.

What is my name then, Tyler? The Voice snaps, waiting for a response.

Tyler looks across the room at a window, trying to decide what to call this part of his mind – his personality. Although the reflection of Tyler's face in the window is completely blurred, somehow, it seems to be smirking at him. Maybe the window needs cleaning. Finally, it hits him.

            "Blurryface."

(A/N)

i don't really know if this chapter turned out exactly how i hoped it would but here you go. i'm aware that the song trees isn't really part of the blurryface era, but i feel like tyler has probably had some form of blurryface his entire life. so, yeah, feedback is always good ;)
