I Love You

Chapter Seven - Dress Shopping

Saturday. 10:00 A.M.

You get up, and eat breakfast.

The phone rings.

"Hello?", you answer.

Pippa is on the other line.

"Hey!", Pippa says energetically. "Do you have any plans for today?"

"Nope!", you simply reply.

"Good! Then can I pick you up around 11:00?", she asks.

"Sure!", you say. "Where are we going though?"

"It's a surprise!", she replies.

"Alright then! I'll see you at 11:00!", you say.

"Yep! See you then!", she says back.

You finish your breakfast, and get dressed for the day.

Pippa picks you up, and drives to the mall.

You look around and say, "Pipp... I love shopping and all, but I don't---"

"Shhh!", she says, stopping your sentence. "This is not for your normal day clothes."

"Then what is it for?", you ask.

"Well, you got asked to Homecoming, so you need a good dress to wear.", she replies.

"I have enough dresses at home. I can wear one of those.", you say, defending yourself.

Pippa shakes her head.

"Do you want Lin to be your boyfriend, or not?", she asks.

"Fine.", you groan.

You sigh, and let her drag you into the mall.

You find the dress shop.

It's full of beautiful dresses, of every kind.

You look around, astonished by what you see.

"Cool, huh?", Pippa nudges you.

"Woah!", you say, as you place your hand on your forehead.

"I know, It's overwhelming.", she giggles. "I fainted the first time I came here."

You laugh.

"Really?", you ask, still chuckling.

"Yes.", she laughs. "My mom brought me here, and I collapsed into her arms."

You both laugh, and start looking around the shop.

You pick out some dresses that you like, and Pippa helps you.

Soon enough, you gather a bunch of dresses to try on.

"Alright! Fashion show!", Pippa exclaims.

You have your sight set on a navy blue, sparkly dress, but you decide to try them all on, before making a final decision.

You go into the dressing room, and try on dress number one: A white flowy dress, that drops down to the ground. It has sequins in the front chest area, and a pattern on the back.

"It looks more like a wedding dress to me.", you say, as you look in the mirror.

"Agreed.", Pippa says. "Next!"

You go back inside the dressing room, and try on dress number two: A hot pink, short, mini skirt dress. It has sequins all over, and is strapless.

"It's too bright, and flashy.", Pippa says.

"I don't know... I kind of like it.", you joke.

"You can't be serious.", Pippa says.

"I'm joking!", you say, as you go back into the dressing room.

You try on dress number three: The navy blue dress. Thicker tank straps, and mesh back. Sequins vary, but are all over the dress. It looks like the starry sky at night.

You smile as you look in the mirror.

"What do you think about this one?", you say as you come out of the dressing room.

Pippa looks up from her phone, and her jaw drops.

"It's-It's... It's absolutely gorgeous.", she says, tearing up a bit. "Do you like it?"

"I love it.", you say.

"That's the one!", Pippa says.

You take it off, and put your normal clothes back on.

You go to the cashier, and pay for the dress.

Pippa drives you home, and arrives at your house.

"Thank you again.", you say to her.

She blushed a bit and says, "It's no problem. Anything to help out a friend."

You smile and get the dress out of the trunk.

"I'll see you on Monday!", Pippa exclaims as she drives away.

You wave 'bye' to her, and walk inside the house.

You show your parents your new dress, and they both love it.

You've never been so excited in your life.

Going to Homecoming, wearing a beautiful new dress, and having your lifetime crush as your date.

You smile, and say to yourself, "Life can't get any better than this."
