We've been fighting for too long now.
Thanks to Treecko's amazing strength and speed we were able to knockout 6 of the poochyenas already. Only one more to go. I ran to professor while Treecko kept the poochyena busy by using tail whip on it's legs to make it trip and stumble.
"Thanks for the help Brendan, I really thought that I saw my end already." he said as I wrap his wounded arm with a piece of cloth. "Professor I won't let you die now, I still need the pokedex from you so I can complete it right?" I said trying to reassure him.
Just then I heard a yelp of pain from Treecko as he has been tackled on the side. Darn! Why did I forget about the battle? Of all the times to loose concentration why now. I must act fast now, Treecko needs me there.
"Time to wrap this up Treecko! Use pound!" I hollered. Treecko jumped up to prepare it's attack but to our suprise the poochyena jumped out of the way, making Treecko hit the ground hard. Crap! That nasty pokemon has memorized our moves!
"Treecko are you alright?" I said running towards my tired and injured pokemon. "Tree..." he softly reply "It's okay buddy you can rest for now" I said placing slowly on the soft grass " You did great" I said. Then the poochyena barked again looking for a new challenge of it's strength. He was the last one of it's pack, I'm sure revenge for his fallen brethren is what makes it fight further.
"I'll take your challenge! Come here you!" I hollered. I know taking on a wild pokemon straight forward is not a good idea, but it's now or never.
But before me and poochyena intercepted, a stream of water shot out from nowhere, causing the wild poochyena to get knocked away. Then a blue pokemon jumped from behind me then tackled the wild poochyena in it's weak spot scoring a critical hit.
The poochyena fainted with swirly eyes after a very powerful combination. I stared at the pokemon that saved me, it had a blue skin, a broad tail that looks like a fish tail. It stood proudly over it's defeated foe. It's a Mudkip.
"Way to go Mudkip, you did well!" a boy's suddendly spoke up somewhere behind me. I turned around to see who he was. He wore a red hoodie, a black and yellow cap and shorts. He has a pokeball in his hand which I guess was the mudkip's pokeball and two more strapped in his belt, he looks like a strong trainer.
"Okay mudkip back to your Pokeball." he said as he put mudkip inside it's pokeball amd strapped it in his belt. He then looked at my direction and started walking towards me.
" Are you alright? You really had yourself in a tight situation there." he said smiling at me " You should be careful not to startle any wild packs next time." he started to explain. I was about to speak when we heard a groan.
"Hey keep the introductions later, there's an injured man here..." professor said. The trainer and I looked at each other and started running towards the wounded professor to help him up.
I placed Treecko in his pokeball before leaving. "Some pokemon you got there, he really did a great job taking out those wild pokemon" he said looking at the pokeball in my hand. "Yeah we really trained hard, it's my fault he fainted, if only I didn't lose my focus and told him to dodge that tackle maybe things turned out differently" I said feeling a pain in my chest, it was really my fault Treecko sustained to much damage. I didn't even noticed that our moves are far to repetitive, if only I can teach Treecko some moves so he won't get stucled in only using to attacks. Maybe being a trainerisn't really my thing.
"You know, you should not blame yourself" he said as if he can read my mind "You and your partner did a good job there, seeing the fainted wild pokemon on the ground, I guess you and your pokemon has that bond betweem you that enabled you to do that. A beginning trainer can't simply handle an entire pack of qild pokemon that good." He said.
"Well maybe you're right" I trailed off. "Enough with the talking already!" professor suddendly spoke up "let's leave this place we might get attacked again." he finished.
We started to walk back to Littleroot town, then I glanced to the fainted pokemon behind us. Then I noticed red beams enveloping the poochyenas de-materializing them being taken somewhere. I shook my head to forget what I just saw. Am I just seeing things? Or there are really people owning those poochyenas earlier? I then refocused myself in carrying Prof. Birch
---------------------------------------------------------
We were back in Littleroot town an hour later. Along the way the trainer that helped us and I talked to avoid ourselves from feeling the fatigue from carrying the somewhat overweight pokemon researcher. He said his name was Ethan, he came from New Bark Town in the Johto region. Turns out he was indeed a strong trainer, he was the champion of the indigo league for four years before he was defeated by his rival named Silver a few months back. He wanted to start a new journey as a pokemon trainer so he decided on coming here in Hoenn. Due to laws on pokemon being carried across regions, he only managed to bring two of his original team, though he didn't say who where they.
"So uhmm, Ethan, was completing all the badges hard?" I asked, I had to know what kind of a challenges I will have to face. He just smiled at me and said, "Of course Brendan it was hard" he began "especially in the indigo league since you have to collect the eight badges first from either Johto or Kanto. Well in my case, I started at Johto. And after that, you have to take the qualifying round to be allowed to enter the next level." he explained " What is the next level?" I asked, sure thing the Indigo league was a tough challenge. I wonder if the Hoenn league is like that.
"It's completing the badges of the other region." he said "and after that will we be qualified to challenge the elite four and the champion. And if we prevailed, we will be declared as the Indigo League champion." ge finished.
"Wow I can't wait to start my journey and collect all of the hoenn badges" I said. "Don't worry Brendan, I'm sure you can do it." he said.
After a couple of minutes we arrived at professor's house, though we knew it would be much better to bring him to a hospital. But the nearest hospital was at Oldale Town, it would take few days to travel by foot, professor might not make it then, due to the amount of blood he lost.
I was about to knock at the door when it suddendly opened, revealing a girl who looked she has been crying for the past few hours. I felt a slight pain in my chest when I saw her still crying and stuff. It hurts to see your loved one being extremely sad and worried. Wait love? Where did that come from? I removed the tought from my head as we lay professor in his bed, while his wife called a doctor to come over. May was still hugging professor, then she looked at me with her mouth saying thank you. At last professor was safe.
