Jack's POV
I was scared. More scared than I had ever been before. I paced my room trying to decide what to do. I got an idea. I called Mark as I sometimes did when I was feeling especially lonely. I did the usual "how are you" and "great to hear" routine after which, I decided the time was right.
"Hey Mark?"
"Yeah Jack?"
"Uh... do you think I could come over and stay with you for a couple o' weeks? I wanna talk ta ya" my Irish accent coming on a lot stronger than anticipated.
"Sure ya can ye wee leprechaun of a boy" trying his best to make me laugh. Which worked.
"Thanks! I'll be there in a day or two!"
I hung up and immediately began to pack for my trip. I bought a plane ticket and went to bed early so I could get some sleep before the busy day ahead.
Mark's POV
After Jack hung up I cleaned up a bit around the place. I was anxious to hear what Jack wanted to say that he couldn't over phone. I prepped the guest room and made sure the recording stuff was set up so he could make videos while he was here.
~look in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane, it's a TIME SKIP~
Jack's POV
I finally arrived at Mark's place, I was welcomed in by a Mark wearing nothing but a t-shirt and boxers. Turning me on slightly, I gave him a firm but swift hug, patting him on the back as I did so. A real "man's hug" if you can picture such a thing. He showed me to the guest room complete with a recording space. I smiled and said thanks while I put my stuff down. I ignored the dog downstairs and the cop cars racing down the street, I did however, notice Mark doing nothing but staring gently into my eyes. I felt a chill run up my spine when he finally spoke.
"I gotta go get started on dinner seeing as it's"-he looked at his watch-"6:20pm"
I nodded and turned away as Mark left the room. How was I going to tell him?
~a hop, a TIME SKIP, and a jump!~
Mark's POV
It had been a week since Jack arrived at my place. He still hadn't told me WHY he was here but he did say there was something REALLY important he had to tell me, saying over and over that it wasn't the right moment. I was sick and tired of his dodging so that afternoon, when I had finished recording and he finished as well, I followed him into the kitchen where I sat him down and looked Jack in the soft baby blue eyes that had always intrigued me. The light shining into the room reflected off of his eyes. Only adding to the beauty I saw in them, -cut it out Mark he is your best friend-I started in a firm but gentle voice, one that seemed to make Jack smile wishfully,
"Jack, look, it's not as if I don't love having you here"-he squirmed-"but I NEED you to tell me why you're here, in person, insisting that 'it isn't the right time'. Sean"- he perked up at the sound of his name (which I almost never use)-"tell me, what's the matter?" I softened my eyes in sort of a motherly way, that made him relax a tiny bit.
Jack's POV
I was terrified. I had no idea he would confront me head on like this. I still wasn't quite prepared to talk to him. I have been holding this secret in far too long. I sighed gently and rubbed my hands through my dyed green hair, knocking my beanie to the floor. I reached out to retrieve it, but Mark's soft, warm hand grasped my wrist firmly to stop me. I looked up into his dark chocolate eyes, glistening in the sunshine coming in from the large glass doors. -I am staring into the eyes of the man I love- That echoed around inside my otherwise empty head until Mark beckoned me back to reality with his strong and soothing voice.
"Sean"-I was still surprised that he was calling me by my real name-"what's the matter?" He repeated, somewhat softer than before.
"Mark," I started, my voice surprisingly working, "I-I-I...uh..." I struggled with the words. Mark's tender gaze, never leaving my teared up eyes, was soft and gentle, as if an injured child was in front of him.
"Oh Mark, I can't make the words come out." I cried.
Immediately, as if a mother saw her baby crying in sadness, he brought me into his soft, muscular embrace, comforting me even though he didn't know why.
Mark's POV
I held the sobbing Irishman close, though I still don't know what he was crying about as hard as he was. This usually loud mouthed, silly, funny, sexy -MARK-I stopped myself from thinking about it. This, guy, I almost never can get to shut up was completely speechless, soaking my shirt in warm tears, his hands placed in fists on my chest, his head buried deep into my shoulder. I hugged him tighter for a moment only to release him and draw his chin up so his eyes, those wonderful, color of a cloudless summer sky, eyes met mine. I whispered, "Sean, it's okay. Everything is okay. Just, please, please, tell me what is the matter poppet." The last word slipped out of my mouth without my consent. I froze, hoping Sean hadn't heard. But he did. He barely squeaked out, "poppet?" Then, without warning he kissed me. I was at first shocked, then, I melted into his warm, luxurious body. We kissed for what seemed like ages, neither of us bored of the other.
Jack's POV
I finally did it. I confessed my love for Mark as soon as we stopped for air. Thankfully, he felt the same way (hence the "poppet") and was glad he didn't have to mentally defeat himself anymore. I was so happy I kissed him quickly and then did a cartwheel in front of the fridge. I turned to Mark, who was trying not to giggle like a school girl.
Mark's POV
I choked back giggles as Sean did a cartwheel. How the fuck I could've missed the fact that he wasn't wearing pants? As he finished the acrobatics, his boxers caught on the drawer handle, pulling open the flap in the front, revealing a lot more that appropriate. If he doesn't fix it now, I won't be able to contain my desires anymore.
