The sky was covered with clouds that looked very dark and ominous, the clouds had a swirling pattern and at the center it looked like a thunderstorm was raging. If looked from afar it would seem like a God was unleashing his wrath upon the land. The scene was very chaotic with people running as fast as they could to their homes as they were very scared of the unruly weather. But not one person, on the ground there was a young boy who seemed to not be moving an inch. Some people thought to themselves if he were dead or not, but non-went to help as they were too busy and too selfish. But contrary to what people thought the boy was very much alive just unconscious from the beating he suffered earlier. The young boy's name is Luo Xi of the prominent Ling clan and he was about 13 years old. The Lin clan was very well known in that part of the land, they were a very powerful clan known for their exquisite skills and techniques. But although Luo Xi was part of the clan he was only at the low stages of the Qi-realm which was pathetic for his age and he had much trouble advancing further, that's why he was beaten all the time. Even though his father worked hard to help him with certain pills and medicinal herbs that would speed up his cultivation there were no promising results.
The cultivation hierarchy of the world was the Qi-realm, Ling Qi-realm, Heavenly-realm, God-realm and Martial God-realm. The Qi-realm is the early stage of cultivation where one trains the body to be able to bear the stress of further cultivation realms. The Martial-God realm is the most powerful existence people have known till now, some say there are even more powerful cultivators than the Martial-God realm but no one has ever met such an existence. With the power of a Martial-God realm one could even destroy an entire landscape with just the flick of a finger. Each realm has 9 different stages to pass through before advancing to the next realm. Forcefully passing through the stages can lead to damage to the person's meridians. When that happens, further cultivation would be useless.
Luo Xi was considered a shame among the younger generation of the Lin clan and was treated as an outcast. In this world of cultivation, the weak was considered trash and the strong could do whatever they felt like. That's why the elders of the clan didn't do anything about the matter, their opinion was that the younger generation should settle the matter on their own.
After a while of raining and thunder Luo Xi woke up dizzy in pain and with a massive headache. He looked around only to see no one around. All he saw was water everywhere and the flashes of thunder now and then. He tried moving his body, he felt the soft cold mud that he was lying on. He thought about finding shelter because the rain kept falling harder and harder so he started crawling, slowly and with all the strength he had to the forest nearby. He was so tired and didn't really see clearly that he didn't know he was entering the forbidden forest. The forest is crawling with dangerous creatures that lurk in the shadows, but they also protect valuable ingredients to make very powerful potions to further increase cultivation. That's why the forest is forbidden for people who have not reached at least the Ling Qi-realm. After crawling for a while he finally reached the forest and he felt that no more rain was falling on him, he was completely exhausted from crawling to the forest because he used all the strength he had left. Completely devoid of strength and energy he passed out.
He woke up after a while not knowing how much time passed by, but he could sense that he recovered a little bit of strength and could see much clearer than before. 'It must've been a really long while' he said.
He looked around and saw only darkness and the faint outline of trees and bushes, he waited a while before moving to let his eyes get used to the dark. He started moving when his eyes were all settled, he slowly stood up and started walking bit by bit. He looked around and found a broken off part of a tree, he picked it up and used it as a support to walk. When he looked up he saw a faint white light, he could've sworn he heard a voice saying 'come...come... closer....'. The voice sounded so heavy and ominous but it was like he couldn't resist and began walking in the direction of the light. He slowly came closer and closer to the faint white light, it was as if it was guiding him to a certain place. He kept walking and walking for what felt like hours. After walking a bit more he suddenly stopped, he looked around and saw a cave. In front of the cave was strangely a torii with a paper seal on it, on the torii* were a lot of inscription patterns meant to hold whatever it was inside. But the inscription patterns looked worn out and the paper seal was torn a bit. He heard the voice again saying 'tear...tear... tear it apart...'. He then saw himself tear the paper seal away from the torii, the inscription patterns then lit up and vanished. He was startled for a bit but then walked inside after a while. He looked around and took in the scenery. The cave had an ancient feel and smell to it, it felt like no one had entered it for thousands of years. It was strangely remarkable inside, it looked like some ancient temple. He thought to himself there must be valuable treasures around here and then went to scour the place. He walked past a bunch of statues that looked like Buddha's. He even passed by what looked like a library, he went inside to see what kind of books they were. He picked up a book which was covered in a ton of dust, frankly the whole place was covered with dust. Wiping the book from dust he then scrolled through it and discovered that it was actually a skill book, a very powerful skill at that. But the thought 'too bad I can't really learn any skill'. He scoured further and realized there are a lot of powerful skill books and scrolls here. There must've been people living here but now there was no sign of any life. He decided to walk further and maybe come back for the books later. Walking further he saw a weaponry room and also went in, he examined on of the weapons and saw that it was actually a spirit weapon. Spirit weapons are very powerful and no one has seen one in ages. Luo Xi wasn't very strong but he made up for that in knowledge. Spirit weapons are very powerful because they have an innate soul realm of their own which you can use your own soul realm to fuse with the weapon, so the weapon becomes stronger as the owner becomes stronger. He looked up and couldn't believe his eyes there it was on a pedestal, the legendary sword Kusanagi. The sword that could control the wind, it was very beautifully crafted. He walked up to the sword but then heard the voice again 'this way.... this...way...', he followed the sound of the voice leading him into a chamber where a dark mist was hanging around, in the middle he saw a sword floating it had a dark aura surrounding it. He suddenly heard the voice again 'Hahaa...You've finally come, I've been waiting so long'. It was like the voice was coming from the sword. Looking closer it looked like something was sealed inside the sword. Something dark with a lot of hatred and a lust for revenge. What could've happened to have accumulated so much hate and anger.
