Gabriel knew he shouldn't. He knew fucking with the Apocalypse could piss off both his big brothers, especially since he would have to break out of his witness protection to do it. He sighed outwardly, hearing the screams of the man he loved all the way from hell. "Damn you Winchester for making me feel.." He'd said it a million times, but it didn't make any difference. He had fallen deeply in love with the righteous man.
Gabriel sighed again, appearing to Sam, the little brother of the love of his life. He landed in the passenger seat of the impala, smirking. "Heya Sammich!" He had a big grin on his face and a snickers bar in his hand. He could hear the younger winchester groan.
"What do you want, Loki?! Dean's in hell. You can't mess with him anymore." Sam replied as Gabriel rolled his eyes and snorted. If only Sam knew. He smirked at the younger winchester, eating his Snickers with a happy sigh. "Now, is that any way to talk to the one who's gonna save your brother from the pit? Show a little respect, Sammich." He grinned again, that secret trickster grin that held so many truths of himself inside, in full view of the younger Winchester.
Sam gasped. "How the hell are you going to do that, Loki? I've tried everything and nothing I did worked. What makes you think that you can just go get him willy nilly?!" He looked skeptical, but there was a spark of hope in his hazel eyes. He wanted his brother back, and if Loki could help, well, he wouldn't mind owing the old trickster.
Gabriel smirked and his invisible wings twitched. "Well, dear Sammich, I'm gonna break out of witness protection." His wings appeared in the car, golden and glowing. He smirked again, a secret smirk. "Call me Gabriel." And with that, he disappeared. Sam just blinked in shock, but his expression said it all. "What the fuck?"
What Gabriel nor Sam knew was that there was another watchful eye on the righteous man. One Lucifer morning star, who had escaped his cage and taken hell back. While he was involved in some tortures, Alastair was the worst. The demonic king could never remember why he had not killed the bastard centuries ago. He could hear the tender screams from Dean on the rack, and the prayers he sent out to the morning star's little brother Gabriel. He could take it no longer. He would rescue Dean and bring him home himself. The quiet king had no clue that the reason he even cared was because he'd found his grace mate.
Gabriel fought tooth and nail through the hordes of demons to reach the love of his life. When he finally saw Dean, the righteous man was panting, gearing up for the next day of torture. He appeared in front of him. "Dean.. Oh Dean.. I'm sorry it took so long."
Dean opened his impossibly green eyes at the sound of his mate's voice. He was full of distrust. Alastair had fooled him before. He relieved as he felt as the chains were released, and he heard the faint snap of fingers he had become so accustomed to. "G-gabe?" He stammered, whimpering as he fell into the arms of the archangel, realizing now that he wasn't dreaming. If there was one thing Alastair couldn't fake, it was Gabriel's brilliant golden wings, and when he opened his eyes, he saw them, right where they should be.
A slow clap sounded in the corner of the room, a figure there covered in darkness. "Very good little brother. Seems you learned something more than tricks in my absence." The figure walked out into the light, smirking in a peculiar way as he tilted his head.
Gabriel's golden eyes went as wide as saucers, and he could feel the pull just as Dean could. He almost choked on a breath. "Luci?"
