Chapter 12:
Zayn stared at me, his whole attention was focused on my face as I tucked the yummy looking pasta into my mouth. I chewed slowly, savoring all the different delicious flavours he had packed into the dish. I could taste all sorts of different spices and all in all it was the best pasta I ever had. Zayn was still staring. Was there something wrong with my face?
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing. Did you like the pasta?"
"I love the pasta! It's just so good!" he smiled like a kid after that and finally started to eat from his plate. That smile was precious to me and it was really flattering to know that I could make him smile. My plate was empty when I realised the time. It was 8:30! I better go home now. Oh but I really didn't want to. I just wanted to observe him my entire life, he just made my life worth while as cliche as that may sound. Out of nowhere, his fingers dabbed at my lip, wiping off the tiny bit of sauce that had stayed there. Butterflies were enjoying themselvs inside my tummy.
"I must go now." I said. Zayn's eyes fell and gave that sad look again.
"So soon?" he asked. Oh God! Why was he so cute!?
"Actually I was meant to be gone sooner than this but my mum had to urgently go to her work."
"So you can stay longer?" he asked again. Why did he have to be like this, making things even more complicated. I just didn't feel like disappointing him so I said "I can stay longer if you like?" and there went my sanity. I had completely lost it. All because of him.
"You can! Well that's great." he smiled like a kid again and I could do anything for that smile. Zayn finished eating and started doing the dishes soon after. I went to help.
"Perrie. You don't have to help. Besides, I don't want you hurting yourself again." he said.
"Oh come on. It's just drying the plates. I can do that much okay."
"Oh alright then. Be careful though. I know you're very clumsy." he chuckled. I blushed because I know exactly what he meant by that. The time where I nearly fell off the chair. I shook my head and laughed remembering the little silly moments of ours. Then I noticed that Zayn had still kept the silver friendship bracelet I had given him few days back. Zayn caught me staring at it.
"Thanks for the bracelet. I really like it. Is your favorite colour silver then?"
"Thanks and no my favorite colour is blue."
"Oh snap!" We gave each other high fives.
"I love the colour blue. It stands out very brightly and beautifully like those eyes of yours - he paused. My eyes? He thinks my eyes are beautiful and stand out! Wow!
"What I meant was, the color blue is a beautiful bright colour." he continued.
"Well I think your eyes are better. They are so brown and deep, I feel as if I am drowning every time I look at you and they just look so delicious!"
Awkward silence filled around us after I stupidly said that out loud. It's one of those moments when you say things out loud instead of thinking about it in your mind. I always end up embarrassing myself somehow.
"You really think that?" he suddenly asked.
"Yes."
"Thanks. It's a great compliment." Zayn smiled the sweet kid-like smile again for the millionth time today, making me smile even wider.
"Hey Perrie, since you are staying for longer, do you maybe want to watch a movie?"
First dinner and now movie? Was this actually happening to me? I said yes although I should really be heading home soon and not doing any of this at all. We sat down on the plush sofas again, Zayn turned on the TV and started flipping through random channels. He settled for Titanic but then got up and went to get a DVD of his own.
