A Mother's Instinct

After Penny and I ate the late breakfast Jade cooked for us, I told the little girl to wait for me at the living room while watching TV. I need to wash the dishes first then cook some food for my two sisters that will be home later this afternoon.

After I wash the dishes, I quickly went to the living room to check on Penny and I am surprise to see her crying. I am worried while walking towards her.

"Hey my Princess. May I know the reason why are you crying?" I asked, she looks up to me first then look down again and play with her fingers. I decided to sit beside her and lift up her chin so she can look straight at me.

"Is there a problem baby? Are you hurt or what?" I asked again "I'm just sad Mommy." She answered; I furrow my eyebrows at her.

"Why? Do you miss your Mommy Jade? Do you want me to call her?" and she shook her head a couple of times then out of nowhere she hugs me and cry on my shoulder "We're going back to UK in a couple of days and I won't be seeing you anymore"

I don't know why but I felt sad knowing that they'll be leaving anytime soon. It feels like my heart crushed into million pieces. I can't explain what am I feeling but one thing is for sure, I'll be lonely once Penny left.

"I know you're not my Mommy that I used to know" she said again and this time I broke the hug and look at her "What do you mean by that Penny?"

"I know she's dead already. I heard Mommy Jade crying the other night." Penny answered while looking down on the floor "She wished that Mommy Pezza is here to explain things to her. She left us without even saying goodbye"

Penny looks up to me and I saw how heartbroken she is "She's afraid to tell it to me because she doesn't want to hurt my feelings. I know I'm too young to understand everything but I know when someone is dead. It means they are not coming back anymore."

"That's why when I saw you, I immediately run towards you. I miss her so much Mommy Pezza" I pull Penny into a hug and tears are building up in my eyes too.

"I don't have a Mommy anymore. She left me and I will never see her again" Penny said "That's not true Penny. Mommy's here okay? I won't leave you, I promise" I answered and I cried while hugging the little girl.

I can't explain the feeling I'm having right now but I don't want to see Penny hurt and suffers from losing her mother. I'll do anything to be there for her. Anything!

"You're coming with us to UK?" Penny asked, I smiled and nods my head "I won't leave my little princess anymore. You know how much I love you right?" Penny then smiles and nods her head a couple of times.

"Thank you Mommy Pezza! You don't know how happy I am right now"

"Anything for you my little one." I answered.

2 HOURS LATER..

Jesy, Leigh-anne and Karl are all worried because Jade lost consciousness for more two hours now. Karl decided to call a doctor but before he can even dial Dr. Guzman's number, Jesy calls him and said that Jade is already awake.

He and Jesy went back to the room where they saw Leigh-anne giving Jade a glass of cold water.

"Hey poopey. Are you okay?" Karl asked his one and only sister "Yes I am. What happened?" Jade asked.
