Father called me into his quarters like any other day. This one calling sounded a little bit odd, like an occurrence has happened.
"Yes Father?" I questioned him respectfully. I dare not to disobey my father. Always common courtesy.
"What do you see of this er, sculpture piece here, Colter?"
I examined what was before me. It looked like art from older times, not necessarily ancient. Maybe during the Renaissance of something close to that era. It was like a storyboard carved into this stone. Dust gathered on it, must have been locked up somewhere. I have no idea where Father acquired it.
I tried to find the story as my eyes traced over the work. There was a woman, she looked rather fearful. To my understanding, she was cowering to the man she saw before her. He had horns and a tail, it was easy to tell who this man was. My father of course. Yes, Satan is my father, but he isn't a man with horns or devil wings. He does have a tail, oddly it didn't pass on to me. Satan was a normal looking being, I wouldn't necessarily claim him as human though. His power consists of fire and brings all of the sinners here to the Underworld, where we live. He claims he doesn't control some death, but I don't think its entirely true.
"Have you a lead, son?" He stroked his chin, lacking a beard.
I became startled as I was distracted by my own thoughts. My eyes traces the storyboard structure. The women was no longer in the sculpture, yet Satan remained. He hovered over a bed, a smaller bed. In it laid two newborn looking children. One child was completely engrossed in flames, I laid my hand on the artwork.
"This is me," I faintly said. My finger followed to the child next to me.
"I have a sibling," I said almost question like. "Did you know about this?" My tone transformed to being hostile.
"I've heard myths, seen them even, like the work before you now," he said, putting his hands in his pockets.
"Do you not believe them?"
"I'm not sure. It's odd seeing myths about yourself. Especially when everyone sees you as a man with horns and is pure evil. I just put the balance in the world."
"But what about this art work? If all of the myths tell the same story, why do you find this piece so fascinating?"
"By the structure and style of this, it comes from a specific artist in older times. Miles Aurius. His work is always based off of things he says, always."
"But if he saw you, he wouldn't have drawn you in the stereotypical Satan appearance."
"Humans, typically Christian, have different sight when they come into contact with a being from the Underworld."
"What do you mean by a different sight?"
"Very dedicated Christians have a chance to tell the difference between humans and demons. As you aware of, you are a Demon, Colter."
Father's finger pointed upon the sculpture, he pointed to the baby in flames. It was me, but why was my sibling not the same way? We were both offspring of Satan, why were they completely fine?
"Why is the other newborn fine? Do I have a sister or a brother?" I questioned.
"The sex isn't portrayed on the sculpture sadly, but if we follow myths that are identical to the work, you indeed have a brother."
