Liam's POV:
I just turned 20 this past year and I truly believe that this new year will be a memorable one. It was a frosty New Years Eve. I could see my breath on my win I was heading of to Danielle's house with some roses and VIP tickets to Vanity, the hottest nightclub in London. It' was going to be a perfect night.
The streets are fairly quiet and the darkness is slowly beginning to creep on me as I make my way down the expressway and exit right on her street . I grab our keys and slowly make my way in.
Something is off. The house is silent with the exception of some moans off in the distance. I make my way up and shriek in horror when I see my girl making love with another man.
"Li, it's not what you think"
She tried to caress me, hug me, but the pain WAS so immense.
I tell myself that this isn't love. When true love exists; deceit and betrayal shouldn't even be in the picture.
I felt so empty. As I rushed to the car, I remembered that I had Miley's latest CD Bangerz in the CD Drive and I immediately went to track 9, Drive. The hurt in that song was exactly how I felt.
"I don't wanna leave home without true love". That line was so simple yet it completely defined this hollow feeling I had. I continue listening and the song and the final verse really struck a chord: "I thought you would be there with I go. You promised you would be there when I go. But all the broken promises I won't miss, I'm finished. All I know are the facts that when I look you in the eyes all I see are lies. Been there done that."
The tears continued to fall and I tried to get a hold of myself.
I needed to see Zayn, We've been best mates since the beginning of high school. Our brotherly bond was eternal.
The drive was over was fairly quick. As I rang his doorbell, the tears continued to trickle down my face. Seeing his face really made me feel at ease. "Hi Zayn".
Zayn noticed that something was off and he crashed in for a hug.
"It's okay Li-Li Bear", I'm here. Come in, it's awfully chilly out there".
Zayn's embrace really brightened the mood. He's always been there for me through all the ups and downs, the breakups, the mistakes, everything. Whoever ends up with him is really going to be the luckiest person on the planet.
"Shhhhhh Li, it's okay. Do you want to talk about it? I'm all ears. You know I'm there for you, always."
"Okay but I just need some water first."

Zayn's POV:
"Alright Liam, I'm all ears. What has been bothering you so much mate? I don't like seeing you like that."
I give him my full attention. Oh ny gosh, he looks so damn good in those jeans; and that shirt, it's so damn tight on him. I'm about to have a breakdown, he's just so damn fine. Pull yourself together Zayn, he's your best friend not your lover; though I wouldn't mind if he fucked me senselessly. Shit, I really need to get myself together for crying out loud. Liam needs me or maybe, I need him.
His chocolate brown eyes look deep beneath me and for a minute, I really thought he was penetrating my soul.
"We're done Zee, Danielle and I. She cheated on me. I loved her, I really did. I had this night planned out for us. I spent a few hundred pounds on VIP tickets to Vanity and flowers and what do I get in return? A big can of lies and deceit with a helping of betrayal and a cup of heartbroken tea with a side of sadness."
"Wow, I'm so sorry Li. No one deserves to be treated so poorly, especially someone as compassionate and good-hearted as you. You've always been there for me and I'm going to be there for you tonight.
"Thanks Zee, it really means a lot".
"Okay so here's what we're gonna do. Since you have those Vanity tickets, you and I are going to have a boys night out, drinks are on me. And we're going to celebrate the beginning of an epic year. I don't want to see that sad face Li, you're too good for that."
"That sounds nice Zee, I'm game."
"Good. I'm going to call a cab in an hour so get ready. You're about to have the time of your life.

Zayn's POV (in his bedroom):
That was so fucking close Zayn, pull yourself together. It felt like he was really looking right through me. He's your bloody best-mate, you shouldn't think about him pleasuring you with those manly hands, and taking control of every aspect of your body. It's just not right.
This sexual frustration has been building for so long and with a new year fast approaching, I feel like this might be the night where he sees that video I made. He'll probably think I'm a freak and just leave me. Gosh, I'm making it sound like we're married, I wouldn't mind that though.
Liam is going to be a good husband. He's loyal, loving, charming and he has the sex appeal of a god. He's beautiful inside and out and I really do care for him, I'm fucking in love with him. This is a mess. I really need to put my feelings in check and think about him for the moment.
He's the one in pain yet I'm making this out to be about me. I'm so vain, it sickens me. I'm going to try and make this the best new years for him. I can't bear to see him suffering. He deserves to be happy. I'm going to do everything within my power to make that happen.
"Li are you ready?"
"Yes Zee!"
"Alright, I'm about to call for the cab, hang tight." As I wait for the phone call to go through, I question myself, will I really be selfless tonight? Can I make this the night of his life? Pull yourself together Zee."
"This is the London Drive Cab Service, how can we assist you?"
"Hi, I'd like to order a cab to 1245 Northcote Road".
