"Don't try to pretend like you don't remember every single little detail as though it happened yesterday..." I felt the hair on the back of my neck start to stand and instinctively clenched my fists. The mass of dark shadow stood in front of me and grinned at the sight of my nervous tension. It realized it had me, and I realized it had me right where it wanted me. Still smiling it spoke once more in its raspy and haunting voice, "Yes, you know exactly what I'm talking about. You remember the darkness, the coldness, the loneliness and most importantly, the fear. The overcoming fear of never being enough, of never being normal, the fear of being...alone..." I shuddered at the last word, still echoing in my ears. Alone... My body was unable to move, I was paralyzed. Run. I told myself, Run away and don't stop. But what is there to run from? Where do I go from here? Why am I so scared of this thing speaking to me? Because you know it's right... This sudden voice I recognized wasn't my own thoughts. This thing was once again speaking to me. I looked to where the wispy mass of dark, shadowy, fog had been. I gasped and realized it was gone. That was, until I felt a sudden cold rush over my body. I forced my head to look behind me, and sure enough, there it was. I now began to panic, What's it going to do to me?! Am I going to die? The creature smirked evilly at me and let out a small chuckle, "No, I'm not going to harm you, my dear. Just going to send you back." I gave it a look of confusion and terror as it reached for me. As two arm looking shapes emerged out of each of the creatures' sides, I screamed as they came closer and closer. I closed my eyes and waited for impact, but it never came. All I felt was a warm embrace and I hesitantly decided to slowly open my eyes to see the creature hugging me and taking a more solid form. It looked like a man but...it was almost glitching between the creature and a man. The man looked at me with a pained expression and formed the words with his lips, "I love you..." A single tear fell off its face, and for a short moment, I felt pity for this amalgamation in front of me. I reached out to it as if to give it comfort but as my hand reached out, I was pulled down, into the ground. I woke up screaming and struggling to breathe. What happened to me? I laid in my bed for another 10 minutes, trying to wrap my head around the fact that it might have been just a bad dream. Yet, there was a small part of me that kept persisting that it was more than just a dream, that it meant something, something important. But what?

~THREE DAYS LATER~
"Why are you so obsessed with this? It was just a dream! Chill out about it already!" Ugh. David. David is my eighteen-year old brother that has been taking care of me for the past ten years. Yet, he still acts like a child. "I'm not obsessed, I'm just curious. Haven't you ever been curious about anything?" He looked at me, "Not obsessed, eh? Who's been the one up all night for the past three nights looking for any evidence that this thing isn't just your imagination?" I went to argue, but stopped. He had me, I couldn't tell him I hadn't. He had heard my keys clicking all night long. I crossed my arms and gave him a look. He started to laugh, "Either way you should be worrying about getting your grades up. They're starting to slip." Right. I hadn't been doing too well in school lately. "Ugh. You're really going to pull that on me? That's low bro." I playfully punched his shoulder as I continued searching on my computer. He smiled at me and walked over to where I was. "Hey can you promise me something?" He lifted my laptop and stood me up on my feet. I had to look up at him, and I saw his eyes were full of seriousness and concern. "Don't lose yourself." I waited for a few seconds before I nodded at him. He smiled playfully and gave me a hug. I hugged him back, and then he threw me back onto the couch. He can be the biggest child in the world, but he does care.

~MONDAY~

I was up so late browsing last night I didn't even hear my alarm go off, it was only when David came in did I realize that it was Monday morning, and I was still a student. I scrambled out of bed to get ready, I brushed my teeth, showered, got dressed, combed my hair, and zoomed out the door. David was already in the car ready to drive me to school. So by the time I was secure in the seat, I had ten minutes till I would be late. Thankfully, we lived close enough to the building that I made it on time. Out of breath, but on time. I waved goodbye to my brother as he drove off, and joined my friends. I was bombarded with questions, "What happened to you? You look like you just got hit by a truck." Stated my friend Ashley. "Thanks." I replied still out of breath, "I didn't hear my alarm this morning and I got up late." She looked at me for a few seconds then proceeded to giggle. I cocked my head to the side in confusion and she smiled evilly at me, then she pointed to something behind me. I slowly turned my head around and what I saw was the first and last thing I wanted to see. How?! How is he here?! Why is he here?!
