There and Back Again {On Hold}

maybe this won't be so bad.

John's POV:

"Jade, I don't think he's coming." I said to my long haired friend.
"He has to! He said he would meet us at the park!" She yelled.
"Jade its almost 3:00, he's not coming."

I felt my phone buzz in my pocket.

~turntechGodhead began pestering ectoBiologist~

TG: so um...situation.

EB: dave? Where are you? Me and jade have been waiting for an hour.

TG: well..uh something happened.

EB: what's wrong?

TG: well ya see...KitKat fainted.

EB: WHAT?? WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE FAINTED??

TG: I went to see him and he just fell over!

EB: WHY THE HELL ARE YOU EVEN AT MY HOUSE??

TG: well Harley said he wasn't coming to the park so I decided to stop by and see him myself.

EB: GOD DAMN IT DAVE! Ugh look I'll be there soon just..get him into bed and we'll figure this out.

~ectobiologist ceased pestering turntechGodhead~

"Was that dave?! Where is he?" Jade asked, looking over my shoulder.
"I gotta go.." I said slowly.
"Is something wrong john?"
"Uh...yeah, dave us at my house and karkat fainted. Probably because he saw Dave and and his brain couldn't take the emotions." I started walking away from her.

Karkat's POV:

It was dark, I couldn't see anything, but I could hear voices
I heard two male voices yelling at each other...
"YOU CANT JUST BARGE INTO MY HOUSE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!" one of them yelled.
"WELL MAYBE I WANTED TO SEE HIM!" yelled the other.
"HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT THAT MAYBE THE REASON HE DIDN'T COME WAS BECAUSE HE WAS TOO EMOTIONALLY UNSTABLE!" the first one yelled again.
"WHY WOULD HE BE EMOTIONALLY UNSTABLE?! I THOUGHT HE WOULD BE HAPPY TO SEE ME!" the second one screamed.
"HE BROKE DOWN AND HAD A PANIC ATTACK WHEN HE FOUND OUT YOU WERE COMING BACK!"

it was silent after that.
I tried to open my eyes, thankfully I could but everything was blurry. I saw two blurry figures. One with blond hair, and one with black.

"W-whos there...?" I managed to muster up my voice.
"Karkat! Your ok!" Said the one with black hair, my vision started coming back.
It was john and he came over and hugged me.
I hugged him back.
"Why do you always manage to fall or pass out when I leave you?" He asked.
"I... I don't know, I have no idea what happened that time..." I replied.

"Well its ok! You're ok now! Every thing is fine!" He hugged me tighter.
I looked over my shoulder and saw a blond boy with a red hoodie on, he had his back to me.
John realized I was looking t him. "Don't worry...dave was just leaving..."
"Yeah...I was, sorry..." It was dave.
"No." I said.
"What?" They both said in unison.
"He's not leaving? But he-" I cut john off.
"I know what happened.. I know hes the reason for my little outburst yesterday but...if wants to see me, let him." I said calmly.
"But kar-"
"No, john you can't protect me from my problems forever...you have to let me fight my own battles.."
John nodded.

Dave turned around. "I'm sorry I broke in. I just wanted to see my best friend.." He trailed off.
"It's fine, oh..and its really nice to see you again." I smiled.
He smiled back.

I surprised myself cause I went over and hugged him.
He hugged back.
Even though it was two years I was still shorter then him.
He buried his face in my hair.

I never thought I would feel this content again after me and jade called it off.
Yeah that's right, me and Harley dated for about 8 months but we slowly lost feelings for each other after the six month mark, and after that she called it off. She said we were better off friends and I agreed. But what I was happy about was  that after we broke up, we never made a big deal, rose and john didn't make a big deal of it and we just went right back to being friends like we were before. It was a healthy relationship. Rose said it helped me a lot after I got over my depression. It was a good experience too.

Dave stopped hugging me and we both stared at each other. It felt so nice to see him again.

"I missed you." He said faintly
"You...did?" I asked.
"Of course...your my best friend." He replied.

After our "moment" we decided to head down to the park together. We all wanted to catch up with the blond. He had his glasses like he always does. Him and his glasses.
I remember jade telling me a story about her trying to steal them. She thought it would be funny, but Dave didn't think so. She managed to get them off his face but had his eyes closed, he was MAD. she gave them back and he didn't talk to her for two months.

What's he hiding behind those shades of his? I decided not to dwell on it and just had fun.

Maybe this won't be so bad.
