Forever Jinxed

Chapter 1

Bushes and trees with barbs on them were whipping past me and cutting up my arms and my face and tangling in my hair. But I didn't mind. I just went along with the adrenaline rush as spotlights waved all around me and an alarm screamed in the distance. I heard dogs barking in the background and I silently cursed under my breath as I pushed my arms and legs to pump faster.

You see, I had just escaped from jail. I just had to make it to the creek that ran it's way around the jail area. Then those darn hounds would lose my scent.

Look I know what your thinking. Oh crap. I'm a criminal. WRONG! I do all the things I do because I HAVE TO. I am made to do these things. If I dont there are dire consequences. And believe me the things HE could do are way worse than anything the stupid law could do to me. You will come to understand in time. I did.

What was I like before all this? Well I was a 17 year old girl about to graduate high school. I had a complicated life but at least it was my own. I was so close to finishing highschool and having that diploma in my hand reading: Congrats to Jinx for Graduating from highschool! Or whatever it is they say. I wouldn't know how my school set it up since I never got it.

Everything had to go horribly wrong. I mean I knew my luck was just too good that day. I should have known that nothing could ever be THAT good in my life. Not even for a day. I mean. I just thought that maybe I could have one day where everything just went absolutely perfect. But it was obvious I was living that day in denial.

Ever since I was little I had always had the absolute worst luck possible. And not your normal 'darn I stepped in a puddle and got my socks drenched' sort of bad luck. My bad luck was worse and much much more often. I mean it was SO bad that I got the nickname Jinx when I was only in first grade. Every where I had gone in the orphanage I would hear laughter and Jinx being called from every corner. I had heard it so much that I just accepted that as my new name from that point on.

I honestly tried hard to lose the nickname but I just kept stumbling and tripping infront of everyone every time I tried to prove people wrong. So you could tell how that never worked. I really only have bad luck when I get scared or nervous. Or just really flat out emotional.

Thats why I had started out with such a good day. But when the family I had been with had all suddenly died.... Well you can imagine how horribly wrong everything can go from there... That was honestly when my whole world had turned upside down.

That was when I first heard HIM.
