Noelle Armstrong

I knew that no matter what, my gram always did what she thought was right. I can remember her being like that even after my parents died. At first when I saw Parker, I didn't want to stare into his eyes. He could always get what he wanted from me. When he spoke I couldn't help but look into his beautiful mesmerizing eyes. "Hi Noey... I'm sorry for just stopping by; I wanted to see how you were after today. Are you okay?" he asked me.

I scoffed and looked at him. "What happened today?" My gram asked concerned. I sighed knowing I needed to come up with something. "Nothing really. Gram can you give Parker and I some time to talk about a project that we have together?" I asked her kindly. She smiled at me and then started to leave.

"Oh, Parker," my gram started. "Yes?" I looked at my gram. "It's nice to have you back here. It's like old times. I remember seeing you guys run across the yard and play tag." I smiled at that.

"Thank you for letting me come back and for giving me such delicious cookies. You still have the best fresh-baked cookies I've ever tasted." he smiled at her and she perked up leaving the kitchen.

Once my gram left, it was just us. We faced each other but stayed silent and kept it awkward. I sighed and then walked over to the fridge and grabbed some milk for the cookies. I whiffed as I walked past them and the scent expanded through the whole room making me sigh in happiness. I sat down with my milk and offered Parker a cookie.

"No thanks." He sat down.

I dipped my cookie and then tapped it against the glass before I put it in my mouth. I could see in my peripheral vision that Parker was watching me.

I looked toward him and he looked away nervous. "Parker, what are you doing here?" I asked him. He glanced at me and sighed.

"I just wanna make sure that you're okay, I know that things got a little out of control today." he mumbled. I snickered at the statement 'little'. He looked at me confused.

"Noey-" he started. "Don't call me that. I don't want to have any negative memories when I think of you calling me Noey. He smiled knowing he still had an effect on me that I didn't want to suffice to or accept. He smirked when I looked away blushing.

"Noey," he started again. I looked at him with sadness in my eyes.

"No matter what, you know you're still my best friend. I love you no matter how I act."

I closed my eyes as the three words and eight letters stabbed through my heart. 'I love you.'

I opened my eyes and he was about three inches from my face. My breathing quickened.

He looked at my lips and his eyes trailed up to my eyes. He got even closer to me where I could feel his breath on my face. I took a deep breathe in. He leaned closer to me closing his eyes and I followed his movements. I puckered my lips. I kept my eyes closed until I felt his hot breath on my skin by my neck. He blew hot air against my ear making my whole body go into shivers. I moaned a little and then he moved to the other side repeating the same movements.

"Parker," I tried to get out words. I bit my lip trying to hold back moans. "We can't do this." he opened his eyes and looked into mine. He looked like he was thinking about something because after a few seconds he got a smile on his face.

"What?" I asked him confused.

He grabbed me by the waist and lifted me onto the counter.

"Parker!" I yelled a little above a whisper. He looked at me with his infamous crooked smile.

My heart melted instantly and I began to start kissing him.

It got heated until he broke it apart.

We were both breathing hard smiling. As much as I hated it, I loved this boy with all my heart.

"Noey, I gotta go." He said trying to catch his breath. I nodded and got down from the counter. I brushed myself off before I talked to my gram again.

"So do you want to go to the movies soon?" He asked me giving me that smile again. "Y-yeah! Th-That would B-Be Great!" I smiled like a kid in a candy store.

He laughs.

"So I'll call you this weekend."  I nodded happily.

"Bye Noey." He left kissing me on the cheek. I smiled and we hugged. I smelled him before he let go. He smelled minty fresh and yummy. I let go before he caught me. I waved and he walked out. I smiled at him and then closed the door. A few seconds later I heard a knock on the door. I turned back around and it was Parker. I looked at him confused.

"I wanna take some of those cookies with me."

I laughed at him and he pouted like a little kid. "Don't be mean to me." He said jokingly. "Aww, is someone afraid of a little tease?" I asked smiling. He nodded like a little kid. I laughed again. "You are so mean Noey!" He said laughing too.

I went into the kitchen and grabbed a paper plate for him. I spread a variety of cookies on the plate and handed it to him. He gleamed in happiness.

"Thanks Noey," he smiled. I know I can always count on you no matter what. I thought about that statement. I looked away and went back to my cookies. There was an awkward silence again. I looked at Parker every once in a while and tried to analyze the way he portrayed himself. The way he stood while he was in my house.

He walked over to the two glass handprints that were on the wall next to him.

"Noey, is this from first grade?" he asked. He smiled innocently and I could tell he already knew the answer. I nodded. "I can't believe you kept these. I looked at it remembering the day like it was yesterday. When we were in first grade our teacher Ms. Hunt told us to find a partner and she told us we were going to dip our hands in paint. I remember Parker and I were both beyond ecstatic. Parker's favorite color was blue and mine was red. So we decided that we both should do one of each color. After we placed our hands on the paper Parker must have forgotten and he patted me on the back. I had red handprints on my white shirt. I laughed at that memory.

He responded with a smile as well.

Do you remember when we used to have movie night and you got so scared we used to sleep next to each other because you didn't like your bed. You just wanted to be around all of this." he said gesturing towards his body again.

I rolled my eyes playfully and then when he looked away I threw a piece of my cookie at him.

He turned around at the perfect time. It hit him right between the eyes. I fell out of my chair laughing. "Oh you think that's funny?" he asked coming closer. I nodded still laughing. He aimed a piece at me and I tried to dodge it but I was too late. "Uh!" I muttered.

He burst out in laughter almost falling over one of our dining table chairs. "You're right, that is funny." I glared at him. "I believe you just started a cookie war." I said chucking another piece. This time he moved.

We start aiming at each other for about half an hour.

When I glanced toward the stairs, I saw my gram watching us and I dropped my cookies. Parker aimed another one at me laughing. He saw that I wasn't playing anymore and glanced at my gram too.

"My, oh, my. What is going on in here?" She asked glancing around seeing cookie crumbs everywhere.

"We're sorry." We both said in unison. I looked down. She gave a hearty laugh.

We looked up at her confused. "Gram, are you okay?" I asked walking closer to her. She nodded looking at both of us.

"This is just like old times." She smiled.

I blushed looking away. My gram walked closer to us and then squinted her eyes at me. "Sweetie is that what I think it is?" she asked pointing towards the red circular mark that was on my neck. I ran upstairs to look in the mirror. Parker gave me a hickey.
