"Jane! Wake up! You sleepy head!" You jerked out your sleep, groaning as you clutched onto your hair and stared your sister, Johanna down.
"What?! It's just 7:20! There's no class today!" You yelled at her annoyingly as you grabbed your glasses and wore your watch.
"Mum said that a new neighbor is moving in next door." she replied as she tried to drag my form of the bed.
Annoyed, I pushed up my glasses and looked at her, "And how has that got to do with us?"
"Whatever, just be down by 7:45. We have to greet, so wear something presentable." she simply replied before disappearing behind the room door.
I reluctantly dragged my form into the washroom, tying my hair up into a messy burn before washing myself up. Minutes later, I opened the closet and rummaged through the drawers to find the girlish floral dress I wore only on special and formal occasions. But ended up walking out of the room with a black crop top, denim shorts, a loose beige jacket, suede lace-up choker and got my hair tied up in a high bun.
Johanna simply rolled her eyes at you, "I thought I told you to dress up more?" I scanned her dressing. Side braids, pink floral dress, heart necklace and a straw hat. Basically not my style. I simply ignored her as I approached Mum.
"Mum, there would be new neighbors moving in today right?" I asked while I sneakily ate some freshly baked cookies.
"Jane! Stop eating those! It's to attend to the neighbors! And I heard they also came from America, y'all should get along well." she replied as she shoved the plate away from me. You pouted before going back into your room to grab your phone and wallet.
"Hey! Jane! Help me grab my wallet!"
Johanna called from the other end of the stairs. You went in your room and quickly retrieved your items before you went into Johanna's nicely-decorated room.
It showed how obvious your parents was biased towards her just because she was smarter, prettier and was a great thing to brag about.
You quickly rummaged through her bed and closet before finding her wallet in a drawer packed of inside wear. And on my way, I just grabbed a 50 dollar note from the pile of clothes in the laundry basket. Like who leaves a 50 dollar note somewhere so visible?
You're quickly sneaked the note in your wallet before rushing out when you heard some unfamiliar voices outside. It has to be the neighbours. You quickly came out of her room and rushed down the stairs, accidentally missing a step and falling face down, injuring your cheek. You quickly got up and pulled the jacket back onto your shoulder as you stumbled down the stairs, cheeks red from embarrassment. You lifted your head and examined the chuckling boy before you.
"Haha... Nice to meet you, I'm Jane Gray ..." you mumbled as you tried to get your hair back into the high bun again.
"I'm Harry Styles! It's nice to meet you too!" he piped. This guy's actually rather nice... But your impression change when he muttered playfully, "or maybe not..."
You rolled your eyes as you simply sat on the sofa, flinching as you touched the wound on your cheek.
"Why don't the three of you go hang out? Get to know each other well while I talk to his mother?" Our mum suggested.
Both of them nodded while I just simply stayed silent as I followed them. I could tell Johanna's into him, anyways she's into lots of boys, way too predictable.
"You're hot..." Harry complimented lowly as Johanna's cheeks turned crimson. I simply clicked my tongue as I slowed down to let the couple walk ahead of me and enjoy their "quality" time together. For the rest of the time, they were just flirting.
