I'm Adopted?

The Discovery

I never suspected that I was adopted. I always thought my family was my real family. That was until I gott to school one day. I was just a normal day, I thought. Well it was until my teacher, Mr. Reeves, told us to look at our ancestory online. I took out my computer and when I looked up my "parents" names, I saw that I was only there by a small jagged line. Everyone else on the tree was connected by a straight line but mine was jagged. I looked at the rest of the family tree and saw that my "cousin", Billy, who I knew was adopted also had a jagged line. Could I be adopted? Could my parents, Who I thought were my real parents made my beliefs a lie.

But if they are not my real family, who is?

I had to find out about my real family. I heard stories about a boy who could get anything or find out anything if you payed him.

I had to find this kid and ask him about my parents.

But then I saw that the website had my birth certifcate. I clicked on it and saw that my real parents name were blurred out but it had my real name. The bell rang and I quickly I clicked the print button and picked it up on the way out. I had just been dismmised for lunch. I went to lunch and found the guy in the corner.

"Um," I began to say. "I need your help to get some information on my real family, I'm Alice." He turned and looked at me.

"I'm Jessie," He replied and I got a good look at him. He wore all black but his face was visible unless he hid behind his black hat that looked like the ones invesitagtoers wore. His face looked older than the rest of everyone in hight school, like he had been held back. "I'll help you but do you have anything to help me?" He said with a sly voice.

"I have my birth certifcate that I found online but the real parents names are blurred out."

"That's not a problem but do you have the money with you,I take a half of the money as a downpayment." I handed him the money. "Also, can I have your number to call you when I have information."

"Sure, do you have any paper?" He took a piece of paper out of his pocket and handed it to me. I took a closer looker and saw it was a buisness card. I ripped a piece off and wrote my number but shoved the rest of the paper in my pocket. He took the paper.

"I'll be intouch soon." I walked away. I took out my lunch and sat down with my friends but next to my best friend, Ginny. I took Ginny aside and told her about the adoption and she said that it was awesome.

"You might have a famous family!" She exclaimed.

"I won't, " I began to say. "Its like 1 in 5 Million." We both laughed and then the bell rang. I finished the day but I couldn't focus. Who is my real family? Do I have any other siblings?

I finished the day and grabbed my bike and cycled as fast as I could home. By the time I got back my 'brother" ,Tommy was home. We were not like other siblings, always fighting and arguing, we loved each other and helped each other but mostly just ignored each other. He was watching the news and I joined him. On the TV, there was something about Taylor Swift and and how she got a lot of ablum downloads. I wasn't really a fan. The news ended and I had to go do my homework even though it was Friday. I was half way through my math homework and was trying to figure out xywr34gd=5 when I got a call.

I checked the caller i.D and it was unknown. I answered it, nervous as hell. "Alice," The voice began to say.

"I found your real family."

This has to be Jessie. But what would my real paretns be like? "Meet me outside the school in half an hour." He said. He hung up the phone. Friendly, I thought. I had to go to the school. Find out who my real family was. I grabbed my bike and backpack and my my multitool keychain just in case. "I'm going to the libary." I yelled.I ran outside and cycled as fast as I could to the school. I got there to see that Jessie was there.

"You're late." He said.

"Do you have the information?" I asked. He nodded.

"Come with me." I followed him into the school and into a classroom. I them but not in the way I wanted to...
