Blake's POV

"You're an idiot Leo", I laughed.
He smirked and said, "What? That lady at the counter was totally checking me out."
I rolled my eyes and just kept walking. We were 14, but Leo liked to think he got all of the ladies.
We turned the corner of Grove street and were almost back to the school campus when I saw her.

A blonde tall girl, who looked our age was lying in the road. Leo must have seen her too, because he froze in his place next to me and just gasped.

"B-Blake... who is that?!", he asked in a shaky tone.
"I DON'T KNOW, BUT WE HAVE TO HELP HER!"

I ran over to her and listened to see if she was breathing. Leo was still stuck where he was, and didn't move an inch. "I don't know what to do!", he grabbed his hair with his hands in frustration. "I want to help but I don't know how!"

"Go find some help!" I shouted. Without a second glance Leo shot off in the direction we had come from.

The girl was having shallow breaths, and she was starting to feel cold. I panicked and picked her up into my arms. "Hello? Are you alright? Can you hear me?" I asked stupid questions when this poor girl was practically dying in my arms.

Only a minute after my stupid questions ended, she let out a slight cough and started to move. I was still holding her, so I felt kind of awkward when her eyes fluttered open and I met the blueness of them.
"H-hi" I managed to say. She just looked at me, and didn't speak.
"Are you alright?" I felt uncomfortable.. but I still wanted to help. Her eyes wandered away from my face and started to look around at the empty quiet street.
"Where are we?" She asked in a small voice, "Who are you..? Who am I..? And why are you holding me?"

I felt my face turn red with the last question. "I'm uh.. Blake.. and I was- I found you on the ground and.. well.. do you want me to put you down?"
"I mean I want to stand on my own but I don't think I have enough energy for that.." She trailed off, and was staring at me again.
What could she be thinking right now? That I'm a creep? Or that I'm a hero?

"So.." I began awkwardly, "You don't know who you are?"
She shook her head slowly. "I think my name started with an A, but that's all I can remember." She frowned and pulled her eyebrows together, as if she were trying to force her memories to return.

"Well we should probably take you to a hospital.." I was wondering what could possibly be taking Leo so long to return with an adult or anyone who could call one.

The girl started to shake her head in disagreement, but thought better of it. "You're probably right.. If I can't even stand up by myself something is really wrong."
We were still standing in the middle of the street, and I thought I heard a car coming so I started walking towards the sidewalk. She shivered as the wind hit us.

"You're ice cold.. here." I slid my arms out of my jacket one at a time so I wouldn't drop her, and then gave it to her.  She shrugged her bare arms into it and smiled softly.
"Thank you for helping me and making sure I'm alright."
I nodded, "No need to thank me, I couldn't have just let you lay in the road like that."
She closed her eyelids and seemed to drift into a light slumber as I began walking to the nearest store, hoping one of the managers could help get her to a hospital.

The Girl's POV

Blackness. All I could see from every direction. I felt numb, and I was ready for death to reap upon me.

After what felt like hours, I began to hear someone's voice.. it sounded like a boy. It was a couple of minutes, but I forced my eyelids gently open. There really was a boy there, and he was holding me in his arms. I let my eyes meet his for a moment, and began to study his expression.
"H-hi" He said in a worried tone. I didn't answer, I was still analyzing his face. He had dark blue eyes, like I'd never seen before, and his eyebrows were pulled into a worried line.
"Are you alright?" He asked in the same worried tone. I let my eyes slide off his face and began to look around at where we were. It was an unoccupied street, with so little sound it was as if time had stopped. Was I dead?
"Where are we?" I asked, afraid I was dead. "Who are you?Who am I..? And why are you holding me?" I was hoping he knew what was happening.

His face turned a little red before he answered but he said, "I'm uh.. Blake.. and I was- I found you on the ground and.. well.. do you want me to put you down?"
It was really awkward, because I did want him to put me down, but my legs felt like they weren't attached to my body. I told him I don't have the energy for that, and he frowned. I couldn't help but study his expressions over and over, since his face was so close to mine. He noticed I was staring, and decided to ask me some more questions.

"So.. You don't know who you are?" He asked me. I started to shake my head no, but it hurt to even move that much so I stopped. "I think my name starts with an A.. but that's all I can remember." I was suddenly mad at myself for forgetting who I was. I tried to concentrate, but it just wouldn't happen, I came up blank. He said I should go to the hospital, and I was going to disagree but decided I should probably go. He gave me his jacket because I was cold, and then I felt myself slowly lose consciousness once again.

Blake's POV

It had felt like hours of waiting, but I felt like I should be there. Leo and I sat in the Greenbrier Hospital's waiting room, hoping the girl we found was alright.
"I'm scared man.. what if she dies?" Leo asked with a frantic expression. I started shaking my head, "Leo, I don't think she's that bad off." I answered. He looked really upset, this must have really shaken him up. "Leo, are you okay? Maybe you should head home." I suggested.
"NO. I'm not leaving, she looks familiar to me and I want to know WHY." He look frustrated, and it finally clicked for me. "Leo, you aren't remembering when... when my mom found you, are you?"
Leo wouldn't look up at me. "Leo..." I began, but he suddenly looked at my face, with tears running down his. "What if she's from where I am? What if I knew her?" It made me upset to see Leo breaking down like this. "Maybe we could ask her-" He cut me off short and said, "NO. You're the only one that knows how I was found, we still aren't going to tell anybody. I don't want people to know how my life really went."

He was still crying, and I agreed. We never said a single word to this girl about Leo being found close to where she was.  We never said a word to her about being familiar to Leo. And it stayed that way, until two years later.
