Chapter 5

"I'll see you tomorrow girls" I smile waving goodbye to my friends, our shopping day was really fun, I bought new clothes I plan on using tomorrow for school.

I begin to drive back home when my phone rings. I answer without checking who is it and connect it to my car speakers.

"Hello?" i ask.

"Hi Nancy, its me Alessandro" he says. I mentally groan.

"What do you want Alessandro, i'm driving" I say getting on the freeway.

"I just wanted to say that my older sister is organizing a halloween party and she wanted me to invite all the people I met at school, I already contacted your friends and their going, i just called to inform you, my sister is trying to get everyone to be vampires so-"

I cut him off when I begin to choke, I pull to the side of the freeway and continue choking.

"Nancy are you ok!!" I hear Alessandro shout through the phone.I continue to cough when suddenly a blue liquid escapes my mouth, I gasp. I stay silent when Alessandro keeps screaming "NANCY!"

"Alessandro" I just say still in shock.

"Nancy are you ok?! Where are you!" he is still shouting.

"Check on your phone, it gives my location, I have an iphone" i say in the verge of tears.

"I'll be right there Nancy, stay there" he says, I hear noises and a car engine turn on. I look at my hand and the blue liquid in my hand.

It wasn't suppose to happen to me...

It was suppose to be gonzalo...

"Alessandro are you there" I say.

"Yes Nancy i'm still there, hold on tight, I'm on my way, tell me what's going on"

Can I trust him with the truth?

I was having a debate in my head on what to tell him, I have only known him for a few days, sometimes he's a jerk and sometimes he's nice, I don't know what to think.

"I was drinking soda and I suddenly began choking, I was about to crash and park the car on the side of the freeway, I don't wanna drive, I'm scared" I say partially true.

No I wasn't going to crash, I just have to put an excuse, I feel fear if I keep driving i might begin to cough the blue liquid again and I might actually crash.

"Its ok Nancy, im almost there amore" he says.

"Don't say that" i grumble.

I hear him chuckle and I look at the mirror and see red headlights come my direction, it parks right behind me and I see a figure come out. It get the chills and see as Alessandro opens my door and pulls his hand out.

I put my hand in his and he pulls me out, he leads me to his car which i find out it was a Black Challenger, with red headlights. He opens the passenger door for me, I get in, he closes the door and gets on the driver seat and begins to drive.

"I will come back for your car once i drop you off, do you want to call your mom or brother?" he asks concernedly. I nod and pull out my phone, it was Sunday so my brother must be at Matthew's watching a football game, I dial his phone number.

"Hello" my brother says.

"Gonzalo head to the house" i say seriously.

"Whats going on Nancy" he says sternly.

"Don't ask questions, get to the house and we will talk there" i say hanging up, I know my brother will continue with the questions.

I sigh and lay my head against the back of the seat and while Alessandro continues driving.

"Nancy, before you started coughing, I wanted to ask you something" he says looking ahead.

"What is it?" i ask a little nervous.

I remember in 8th grade when Chloe, Jason, and I talked about how we felt when people were all like 'can I ask you something' chloe and I took it seriously, it made us think that they might ask us out or something, but jason always said 'it never bothered him.'

"My sister dared me to take a girl as date to the dance, and since your friends already told me your passion for italians and vampires, I wanted to ask you. Will you be my date for the halloween dance at school and for the party?" he says looking at me hopefully.

My cheeks warm up. Say yes Nancy!!! That was what my good side was saying but I felt a sting of pain in my bad side Nancy, he's a player, and I thought you wanted to wait for Leo to realize how we truly love him.

I was having a full debate i notice that there was a hint of hurt in Alessandro's eyes since I haven't responded. I felt the unknown sting in my chest intensify as I look at his eyes.

"Sure Alessandro, I'll be your date" I say. He gives me a shocked expression but changes it to excitement, he smiles widely and turn on the radio and he puts Beethoven symphonies.

I give him a shocked expression, he just shrugs "I like listening to Beethoven symphonies" he smiles.

I felt starstruck, it was beautiful watching him smile truly, it wasn't a smirk, but a true smile. I smile back "I love beethoven symphonies as well, do you have symphony no. 6?" I ask hopefully.

He nods and switches the songs when the familiar symphony comes up and I listen peacefully. I give him my address and he stops in front of my house.

"Thanks for picking me up and for going to get my car" I smile warmly.

"No problem, amore" he winks.

I feel my cheeks heat up and he smirks. I close the door and wave him goodbye. I enter the house and see my brother in the sofa with my mom, they were giving me a confused expression.

I didn't say anything...

All I did was lift up my shirt showing my belly button, revealing the blue gem.

They gave me a shocked look and I nodded.

I finally evolved.
