Alyssa's P.O.V.

I woke up the next morning with a dog licking my face.

"Maggie stop," I laughed.

She jumped off the bed and I heard the door bell ring. I started walking towards the door.

Fuck I hate opening doors.

I opened the door and so one was there. This was becoming a common occurrence. I looked down and saw yet another letter.

I sighed and picked it up. Bracing myself, I opened the letter.

Bunny,

Be there before 5:00pm today or else. Oh and don't bring anyone

xoxo

The message sent chills down my spine. I knew what he meant by or else.

After re-reading the letter a couple of times, it clicked. He was talking about the Pawn Shop on eighth that he wanted me to go to.

I walked out of my room to check if my brothers were still asleep. Mike wasn't in his room so I suspected he had an early morning shift and Davin was still sleeping in his room. I went into the kitchen and wrote a note on their whiteboard on the fridge:

I'm going out for a bit. Don't know when I'm back. Text me if you need anything.

-Al

Davin will probably text me to get food and Mike will ask where I am. I knew that much.

I walked out of the house after grabbing a coat from my room. It was a little chilly today so I called for a taxi.

After waiting about 5 minutes, the taxi came. I got into the car and he turned around.

"Where will it be sweetheart?"

"The pawn shop on eighth, please," I smiled.

He had grimy grey hair and a scruffy beard. It kind of looked like he hadn't showered in a while. He turned away and mumbled something.

"Excuse me?" I said.

He switched the gear into drive and just shrugged.

"I didn't say anything."

Maybe I was just going insane. All that's happened so far has made me so....I don't know. I don't think that there's one single emotion that could cover what I've been feeling. It's kind of like anger, sadness, fear, and stress all rolled into one.

I looked out the window and noticed we were on eighth street. The man started slowing down and swerved to the side of the road in front of, what must be, the pawn shop. I grabbed my wallet out of my purse.

"How much?" I asked while looking for change.

"How about we go back to my place after you're done and you can pay me back sweetie," he smirked while turning around to touch my leg.

"Uh, I prefer just paying cash," I mumbled.

"What was that honey?" He smiled with his rotten teeth.

"No," I said, louder this time. I threw a ten in front. Even though he didn't deserve even half of that, it's all I could find because I wanted to get out of that car.

I started to walk to the door but I heard his voice again, "I'll be waiting here, sweet cheeks. I know we can negotiate a better price."

With that I walked faster to the door and got in as quickly as I could.
