The girl's heart raced, her countdown timer was nearing its end. There was less than an hour- to be exact, 0000d 00 h 39 m 42s and counting. Where would life take her? She was home alone in her small country house, as her parents went shopping, but merely only for the reason of letting her find her soulmate on her own. She sat on her couch, tugging nervously at her braided dark brown hair and spontaneously doodling in her sketchbook. She wondered how she would possibly meet her soulmate. Could it be a delivery boy, just dropping off a package- Or maybe a new neighbor who moved in across the street. Maybe a lost traveler—Or maybe a thief who came to rob her house because he'd seen her parents drive away. Although all of the scenarios were possible, they were unlikely. Her country home was nice, but it was isolated by the woods and there were more than a few acres to pass before one would come upon another house. She anxiously pulled her hair out of her braid. She tried to sigh to make the situation less stressful. Nothing would get done with just waiting, through zoning out and daydreaming her timer was at 0000 d 00 h 09m 43 s. On impulse she decided to grab a quick sweatshirt jacket to cover herself in the brisk springtime wind and run. She refused to stop, carelessly stepping on twigs and stones.

The timer was at ten seconds- She panted and was in the emptied wilderness, standing at the foot of the river, the water lightly trickled around the heels of her callused and bruised feet. Then she caught it, a red liquid, began to stain the water. She turned around shakenly towards the rushing water passing on the other side of the river. She inhaled sharply seeing a body floating carlessly. The girl in the water's red hair matched the blood as it spread further throughout the water. Her eyes glanced to the left seeing bare feet... No, this wasn't the one who did it. The fatal wound in her side made it feel like moving was unneeded. Her lips would reach the surface once in awhile to take a breath but she had accepted there was nothing to do. Her eyes shifted to the rest of the person, both of their eyes met as the timers simultaneously stopped at zero. The girl with the red hair let out a last exhale with a slight smile knowing she had at least made it there. The blue from her eyes faded along with her sight as she watched the panicked deep brown haired girl from above the water reach down. How needless... To assist the one who was already dead.
